The GIZ Global Civil Peace Services (CPS) Program “Promoting Conflict Resolution Mechanisms and Creating Prospects for Vulnerable Groups and Regions in Jordan” is seeking to hire a “Education and Youth Advisor – focus Digital Skills” based in Jordan- for full-time base employment.
The project “Promoting Conflict Resolution Mechanisms and Creating Prospects for Vulnerable Groups and Regions in Jordan” is part of the global GIZ Civil Peace Service (CPS) program. It strengthens social cohesion in Jordan by empowering individuals, particularly youth, to actively participate in social change processes and resolve conflicts constructively.
Using innovative, youth-focused methods such as performing arts, dialogue, neighborhood mapping, sports, and life skills training, the project creates opportunities to transform conflict into avenues for growth. GIZ CPS works in close partnership with civil society organizations in Amman, Karak, and Ma’an to foster inclusion and build a more cohesive and resilient society.
Qualifications and specialist knowledge
- University degree in Social Sciences, Media Studies, Education, a related field or demonstrated professional experience in one of these fields.
- At least 5 years of professional experience in education, youth, or civil society sector, with a focus on media and/or digital skills, communication or creative arts.
- Proven experience designing and facilitating workshops for diverse audiences, including Arabic speakers, on digital literacy, social media use, and online safety.
- Strong understanding of Jordan’s political, social, and cultural context, with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders effectively.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in Arabic and English, with a proven ability to deliver quality results.
- Demonstrated ability to manage events, capacity-building programs, and workshop logistics efficiently, also for target groups outside of Amman.
- Motivated, adaptable, and reliable team player capable of working independently and collaboratively and open to learning new approaches.
- Experience with conflict transformation, peacebuilding methods, Do No Harm principles, or human rights-based approaches, as well as diversity and inclusion is an asset.
Main Responsibilities

GIZ CPS works in close partnership with civil society organizations in Amman, Karak, and Ma’an to foster inclusion and build a more cohesive and resilient society.
- Design and facilitate capacity development workshops for partners and target groups (in and outside of Amman) on various digital skills, multi-media skills, communication, and creative storytelling, as well as transferable skills such as conflict transformation, dialogue and non-violent communication. Using creative and innovative methodologies of teaching.
- Support partner organisations in improving their and their staff’s communication and practical media skills (e.g. content creation, targeted online outreach).
- Integrate digital literacy skills and digital competencies into life and citizenship education manuals, ensuring inclusive and safe navigation of digital spaces.
- Support the development of a digital peacebuilding strategy for CPS Jordan, conducting regular exchanges and capacity-building sessions with partner organizations.
- Serve as the primary PR focal point for internal and external communications, increasing project visibility through engaging content.
- Collaborate with the CPS Program Coordinator and PME Advisor to include digital tools in planning and M&E frameworks, adhering to Do-No-Harm principles.
- Advise the team on digital trends, represent the CPS program in global and national digital working groups, stay updated on national digital and education policies and strategies.
Additional Information
The position requires flexibility to perform tasks outside the defined scope when appropriate.
