1.Background

Since re-establishing its presence in Jordan in 2019, Anera has expanded its humanitarian and development programming across key sectors, including livelihoods and inclusive economic development, education, health, and humanitarian relief. More recently, Anera Jordan has expanded into food security and nutrition, WASH, environmental sustainability, and support for Palestinian evacuees from Gaza. Working closely with Jordanian line ministries, local community-based organizations (CBOs), municipalities, and national and international partners, Anera implements programs that support refugees and vulnerable communities while improving access to essential services and livelihood opportunities across Jordan.

As Anera’s programs continue to grow in scale and impact, there is an increasing need for high-quality visual documentation that effectively captures field activities, beneficiary stories, community engagement, and organizational events. Strong visual storytelling plays a critical role in highlighting program impact, supporting donor visibility requirements, strengthening advocacy and public engagement efforts, and preserving institutional knowledge.

In this context, Anera seeks to engage a qualified videographer, photographer, and editor to support the documentation of its programs, projects, and activities across Jordan. The consultant will be responsible for producing professional visual content that reflects the dignity, resilience, and lived experiences of beneficiaries while adhering to Anera’s ethical standards, safeguarding principles, and branding guidelines.


2.Purpose of the Assignment

To provide photography, videography, and editing services for Anera to document its various programs, projects, and activities in Jordan through high-quality outputs that reflect:

  • The impact of the organization’s projects on beneficiaries and communities
  • Human-interest stories that inspire empathy and support
  • Field activities and official organizational events


3.Scope of Work and Covered Activities:

The following events and activities will be covered as needed:

  • Field activities, humanitarian aid distributions, awareness sessions, and community trainings, including but not limited to: medicine and food parcel distributions, vocational training sessions, rooftop garden installations, WASH activities, MHPSS sessions, and winterization support
  • Official visits and meetings with senior officials, organizational partners, or donors
  • Beneficiary stories, including photographs documenting the lives of individuals/families before and after the organization’s intervention, while maintaining dignity and privacy
  • Special events such as conferences, workshops, awareness campaigns, and fundraising events
  • Documentation of staff and volunteer activities at headquarters or in the field.


4.Key Tasks and Deliverables

  • Capture high-resolution photographs of project activities, events, beneficiaries, and stakeholders, as requested.
  • Deliver professionally edited, high-resolution photographs, categorized by activity/event and submitted in both web-optimized and print-quality formats (JPEG and RAW, where applicable).
  • Capture high-quality video footage (4K preferred or Full HD minimum), including interviews, B-roll, and event coverage, as requested.
  • Produce edited short-form videos (approximately 60–90 seconds or 1–1.5 minutes, depending on the assignment), optimized for digital and social media platforms.
  • Provide all raw, unedited photo and video files upon completion of each assignment.
  • Ensure all individuals featured in photos and videos, particularly children and other vulnerable groups, have signed informed consent forms in accordance with Anera's safeguarding and data protection policies.
  • Transfer all deliverables through a secure cloud folder within the agreed timeline.
  • Organize and label all files clearly by project, location, and date to facilitate archiving and future use.
  • Ensure all visual content adheres to Anera's branding, storytelling, safeguarding, and donor visibility guidelines.
  • Make up to two rounds of reasonable edits/revisions to the final edited videos, if requested by Anera.


5.Ethical and Professional Considerations:

  • Informed Consent: Obtaining written consent from individuals before photography or filming
  • Child Protection: Avoid publishing images that reveal the identities of vulnerable children without coordination with the protection team
  • Cultural Sensitivity: Avoid imagery that may cause stigma or exploit beneficiaries
  • Compliance with Organizational Policies: Adherence to data protection policies, anti-harassment policies, and safe image-use policies
  • Confidentiality and data protection compliance
  • Special care in MHPSS-related interviews (referral pathways must be respected)


6.Timeline:

The maximum delivery timeframe is within 4 - 5 working days from the completion date of the shoot, unless otherwise agreed in advance.


7.Usage Rights:

Anera retains the right to use the photos in reports, social media platforms, promotional materials, donor reports, the Anera website, and may share content with partners or media with appropriate credit. The consultant may not publish or share any content produced under this assignment without prior written approval from Anera.


8.Management and Coordination

● Consultant to coordinate and liaise with the Communications Officer and report to the Senior Communications Manager.


9.Payment Schedule

Payment under this contract is made on a per-deliverable basis, in line with the tasks assigned to the consultant through Anera’s Communications Officer.

Each task or service type has an agreed unit rate, as detailed below. Invoices shall be submitted upon completion of each agreed deliverable and approved by the Senior Communications Manager prior to payment. No advance payments will be made.

  • Photography (field shoot/event) - 100 JD Per 3 hours Rate
  • Video (2-3 hours field shoot + editing) - 200 JD _ Video Up to 1:30 mins 

Skills

Qualifications


  • Proven experience in photography, videography, and video editing, preferably within humanitarian, development, or nonprofit sectors
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating high-quality visual storytelling, including field documentation and human-interest content
  • Proficiency in professional photography and editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, Photoshop, Lightroom, or equivalent)
  • Ability to produce high-resolution visual content suitable for both digital platforms and print materials
  • Experience working in sensitive environments and with vulnerable communities while maintaining dignity and ethical standards
  • Strong understanding of informed consent procedures, child protection principles, and safe image practices
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and deliver organized, high-quality outputs promptly
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills with diverse stakeholders and field teams
  • Fluency in Arabic is required; working knowledge of English is preferred
  • Ownership of professional photography and videography equipment
