Job description
Job Purpose:
To support the Branch Manager in managing and developing PGL’s Jordan operations by coordinating daily branch activities, supporting sales and customer relationships, overseeing administrative and operational tasks, and ensuring effective communication with customers, PGL head office, and other branches to contribute to the growth and smooth operation of the Jordan market.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Branch Manager in managing the day-to-day operations and overall activities of the PGL Jordan branch.
- Support the development and implementation of business and sales strategies to expand PGL’s vehicle shipping and logistics services in the Jordanian market.
- Identify potential customers, business opportunities, car dealers, showrooms, and other relevant partners, and support the branch in generating new business.
- Build and maintain professional relationships with customers, dealers, suppliers, and business partners to support customer retention and business growth.
- Follow up on sales leads, customer inquiries, quotations, and ongoing business opportunities, ensuring timely responses and effective conversion of potential customers.
- Coordinate with PGL’s sales, marketing, and operations teams to ensure customers receive proper support and that shipments and related activities are handled smoothly.
- Assist in coordinating vehicle shipping and logistics activities, including customer documentation, shipment follow-up, and communication with relevant parties.
- Monitor the local market, competitors, pricing, customer requirements, and industry developments, and provide relevant feedback and recommendations to management.
- Supervise and coordinate administrative activities within the branch, including documentation, office requirements, records, expenses, and other operational matters.
- Prepare regular reports for the Branch Manager and head office covering sales activities, customer development, shipments, business opportunities, branch performance, and other relevant matters.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities assigned by the Branch Manager or management and provide backup support to ensure business continuity and the effective operation of the branch.
Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management, Logistics, or a related field.
- At least 1–2 years of relevant experience in branch operations, business development, sales, logistics, administration, or a similar position.
- Previous experience in shipping, logistics, freight forwarding, automotive, or a related industrywill be an advantage.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize work effectively.
- Good attention to detail and accuracy in handling documents and records.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word and Excel.
- Ability to communicate professionally with customers, suppliers, and internal teams.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to the requirements of a newly established branch.
- Good problem-solving and follow-up skills.
- Fluency in English and Arabic is preferred for communication with the Jordan branch, customers, and PGL head office.
