Position: Executive Director

The Jordanian Universities Network (JUNet) invites applications for the position of Executive

Director. JUNet is a non -profit company, serving as the Research and Education Network for

Jordanian Universities, connecting public universities and national sta keholders through a

high-performance digital infrastructure. It provides advanced ICT services including high -speed

internet, datacenter solutions, cybersecurity frameworks, and Microsoft cloud solution s.

The Executive Director will lead JUNet's operational growth, expand its services, and position

it as a leading enabler of research, education, and technological innovation both nationally and

regionally.

Responsibilities:

1. Lead the formulation and execution of JUNet's operational objectives, reporting to the

Board of Directors.

2. Directly oversee the three operational sections (IT Infrastructure & Cybersecurity,

Financial and Administration, and Projects, Partnerships & Planning ) ensuring

coordinated, efficient service delivery .

3. Oversee all operational aspects of the network in coordination with the IT Infrastructure

& Cybersecurity Section, including network engineering, systems engineering, data

center operations, and cybersecurity .

4. Establish and manage advanced digital services such as CERT, Internet Peering,

Routing, Interconnectivity for universities, and Educational Licensing Solutions,

including Microsoft 365, Azure for Education, and academic licensing management.

5. Supervise, through the Projects, Partnerships & Planning Section, the planning and

implementation of projects, proposal development, and documentation, ensuring

compliance with applicable requirements. Including contracts and legal matters.

6. Participate in procurement processes and public tenders in accordance with

Government Procurement Bylaws.

7. Foster and develop partnerships with local and international stakeholders, including

universities, ministries, and funding agencies, through Projects, Partnerships &

Planning Section.

8. Ensure operational and financial sustainability - in coordination with the Financial and

Administration Section - through efficient service delivery, financial lifecycle

management, cost optimization, and the development of new services and funding

models.

9. Engage the Strategic Advisory Council (SAC) for strategic input and recommendations,

and the Technical Advisory Council (TAC) and Technical Task Forces for technical

guidance on network, infrastructure, and cybersecurity matter s.

10. Coordinate with the Executive Secretary on administrative and governance matters, and

support the Audit and Control function's oversight of JUNet operations.

11. Represent JUNet in regional forums, promoting Jordan's presence in regional and

global research and education networks.

12. Promote JUNet's vision, services, achievements, and strategic initiatives across

professional networks (e.g., LinkedIn) and social media platforms (e.g., Facebook,

YouTube), enhancing visibility and engagement with stakeholders.

Candidate Profile:

1. Strong ICT track record in managing national -level digital infrastructure, datacenter

services, and IT networks, preferably within the higher education or a related secto r.

2. Strategic thinker with knowledge of ITIL -based service delivery, public tenders, and

stakeholder engagement across academia, government, and other partners .

3. Demonstrated ability to lead and coordinate multiple functional teams or sections

(technical, financial/administrative, and projects/partnerships) toward unified strategic

goals.

Minimum Qualifications:

1. A bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or a closely

related field. Rating: GOOD.

2. At least 5+ years of progressively responsible experience in the ICT field and IT

profession, preferably within the education sector, research institutions, or

government-affiliated digital transformation initiatives.

3. Jordanian citizen.

4. Proven track record in managing equivalent-scale IT businesses or organizations with

comparable operational structures.

5. Preferred IT Professional Certificates and Trainings: CCNA, MCSA, CISSP, CEH, CISM,

CISA, ITIL, or equivalent are a plus.

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Familiarity with international IT governance and frameworks .

2. Experience in managing multi-stakeholder projects in academic or national contexts.

3. Demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage organizational

change.

4. Demonstrated ability to create and manage taskforce -based projects, including

engagement with advisory councils and technical task forces.
