Duty Station: Amman, with frequent visit to other duty stations.

Report to: Country Logistics and Supply Chain Manager

Status: Fulltime                               

Contract duration: From 01/04/2024 till 30/04/2024 renewable based on performance and availability of funds.

ABOUT INTERSOS:

INTERSOS is an International NGO that assists the victims of natural disasters, armed conflicts, and exclusion. Its activities are based on the principles of solidarity, justice, human dignity, equality of rights and opportunities, respect for diversity and coexistence, paying special attention to the most vulnerable people.

INTERSOS provides primary assistance in terms of food, shelter, medical assistance, and basic goods, while also ensuring that basic needs, education, safe water and health needs are met during the recovery phase.

Since 2012, INTERSOS has had operations in the Middle East to contribute towards ensuring emergency relief and social protection assistance for Syrian refugees fleeing their homes in search of safety, with a special focus on most vulnerable groups (children, women, elderly, and persons with special needs).

In Jordan, INTERSOS has focused its humanitarian response on supporting Syrian families displaced across urban and rural areas, as well as vulnerable host communities, with a program that concentrates on protection.

OBJECTIVE OF THE POSITION:

 

Carrying out specific supply works regarding his qualifications, according to INTERSOS procedures and his superior's instructions, to contribute to the procurement process of the relevant base, such as preparing contracts, gathering quotations, and suppliers pre-qualifying process.

Support the Country Logistics and Supply Manager in planning, establishing and reviewing the fleet and motorized equipment management in the mission/project including its annual budget, to identify and  prioritize operational needs and objectives of the mission

Perform the tasks of transporting authorized goods and passengers in INTERSOS vehicle, ensuring its technical and safety conditions and respecting the country's traffic rules and INTERSOS security rules, to provide a safe, smooth and efficient service.

 

MAIN Tasks: 

 

  • Assist the procurement procedures (contracts, quotations, appraisals of quality and price) for goods and services in respect of INTERSOS and donor requirements
  • Facilitate the negotiation with local purchasers and maintain good relationships with suppliers
  • Run market assessments and update suppliers lists
  • Assist the Logistics and Supply Chain Manager in following up on the payments of all suppliers and collecting all the necessary supporting documents from them i.e. receipts and delivery notes
  • Support the Logistics and Supply Chain Manager in ensuring that all procurements are completed on IMP and all necessary documents are uploaded and properly archived in the finance department
  • Checking daily the technical conditions of the assigned vehicle (state of the tires, oil, fuel, brakes, radio equipment, spare parts, etc.), performing weekly checks according to INTERSOS Logbook, refilling it when necessary, and keeping it clean and in perfect conditions to ensure it can be driven at any time
  • Ensuring the security of passengers in the vehicle, driving carefully, observing speed limits and traffic rules in the country as well as INTERSOS security rules, to avoid car accidents
  • Allowing access to the vehicle and transportation only to authorized persons and preventing access to the vehicle to weapons
  • Informing the line manager of any traveling plan and/or modification to schedule, and an incident involving the transportation of passengers and/or goods
  • Knowing how to use all materials and equipment provided (toolbox, emergency kit, etc.) and is responsible for the good condition of the equipment
  • Reporting any problem or inconvenience
  • Assisting with logistics tasks when required, such as filing documents and delivering/collecting documents
  • Any other tasks requested by the line manager

  • Minimum 1 year experience in work-related jobs required
  • Good knowledge of procurement processes
