Job Title: Midwife FSR # 530

Location: Amman

Job Summary

Providing full antenatal care, including parenting classes, clinical examination and screenings. Identifying high-risk pregnancies. Monitoring women and assisting them through the labor and birthing process. Teaching new parents how best to provide care for newborn.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function with or without reasonable accommodation.

Main Tasks and Responsibilities 

• Examining and monitoring pregnant women
• Assessing care requirements and writing care plans
• Undertaking antenatal care in hospitals, homes and GP practices
• Carrying out screening tests
• Providing information, emotional support and reassurance to women and their partners
• Taking patient samples, pulses, temperatures and blood pressures
• Caring for and assisting women in labor
• Monitoring and administering medication, injections and intravenous infusions during labor
• Monitoring the fetus during labor
• Advising about and supporting parents in the daily care of their newborn babies
• Helping parents to cope with miscarriage, termination, stillbirth and neonatal death
• Writing records
• Tutoring student midwives
• Ability to deal with emotionally charged situations
• Excellent team working skills (help other department if they need)
• Interpersonal and communication skills
• Strong observational skills
• An interest in the process of pregnancy and birth
• Following the Patient in the labor room and post-delivery ward
• Provide education to patients including breastfeeding, danger signs for newborn, family plaining.

Qualifications 

• Typically, Diploma degree of midwifery. Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate,
• Typically, 5 Five years at least of experience, and to have relevant and progressive experience.
• Practicing the midwifery profession.
