Location: Amman

Job Summary

Health Informatics Assistant will assist in digital transformation of health records management in various International Medical Corps Missions.  He/She; hereafter referred to as ‘He’ is responsible for implementing and supporting health & pharmaceutical information systems in IMC’s missions globally. He will provide technical and administrative support for implementation of information management system in projects identified by the Health Informatics department.

Main Tasks and Responsibilities

Description of Responsibilities:

A. Project Implementation

1. He will oversee the implementation of the system by monitoring the progress and will be primary focal person for any concerns and queries from the user.

2. He will assist in a ‘Help Desk’ to provide remote guidance to the users and support in resolving any issues that may arise.

3. He will assist in the development of implementation plans prior to roll out of the program in collaboration with the field.

4. He will create user supporting material and self-training modules for the Pharmacy and Health Information Management systems.

B. Training & Support

1.  Meet users to gather information about their requirements and to find out what needs researching, designing or usability testing.

2. Be involved in sketching, prototyping and on occasion user testing, before passing the design onto the development team.

3. Work closely within a multidisciplinary team, including web developers and programmers

4. Assess individual and group training needs; maintain individual and group training records

5.  Provide support and guidance by demonstrating knowledge of software, services, and best practices.

6. Provide users training including on-site support during enrollment, as well as post enrollment support.

7. Develop software policies, processes and guideline to ensure compliance

8.  Build an internal wiki with technical documentation, manuals and policies.

9.  40% travel to low-resource settings is required.

10. Any additional tasks as assigned by the direct supervisor.

 Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree in pharmacy, nursing, information technology, management information systems (MIS), computer science (CS), or a related health or IT field.
  • Minimum 3 Months experience including volunteering or internship.
  • Experience in Health IT experience is preferable.
  • Enterprise Resource Planning [ERP] and electronic health record (EHR) knowledge is preferable.
  • Very good English language.
