Logistics Officer Jordan Amman Country Office

1.  Roles and Responsibilities 

The Logistics Officer will support in the timely and efficient procurement of goods and services for the NRC Jordan Programmes in compliance with NRC's internal policies and regulation. 

Generic responsibilities 

  • Adhere to NRC policies, tools, handbooks and guidelines. 
  • Assist a range of support with the implementation of the support function portfolio according to plan of action. 
  • Implements independently procedures and activities within own function or core competency as delegated. 
  • Responsible for organizing and delivery of tasks in line with priorities and standards. 
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of the specialist area of work in which technical assistance and support is being provided, in order to be most effective in supporting the team. 
  • Use initiative in day to day problem solving in line with agreed procedures, priorities and standards for the area of work. 
  • Prepare and develop status reports as required by management. 
  • Ensure proper filing of documents. 
  • Promote and share ideas for improvement in your area of expertise. 
  • Actively promote PSEA (Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse) standards & principles within NRC and amongst beneficiaries served by NRC. 

Specific responsibilities 

  • Ensure local procurement conducted is in compliance with NRC and donor procurement policies and procedures 
  • Ensure paper and electronic records are maintained in a systematic manner in line with NRC’s standard procurement procedures, providing a clear auditable trail 
  • Source appropriate suppliers in the local market for the procurement of good and/or services based on specifications provided by programme or support staff. And conduct regular market surveys for commonly procured goods and services, maintaining an up to date supplier database with key supplier information 
  • Establish and maintain good and professional working relationships with suppliers, service providers and contractors whilst strictly adhering to NRC’s anti-corruption guidelines and NRC’s code of conduct 
  • Run and manage the procurement processes for goods, services and works based on the value and threshold 
  • Liaise with field logistics and programme staff to ensure timely delivery of procured goods and services 
  • Support the Country Office Logistics Officers (Fleet / Assets) when needed. 
  • Support the Area Office in their procurement deliveries that are made to the Country Office, including counting the materials, checking the invoices and signing the needed documents.
