The GIZ Jordan "TVET & Edcuation Cluster" is looking for a “Communication specialist” for full-time base employment. 

 

Qualifications and specialist knowledge

  • University degree in relevant field of work (Communications, Public Relations, Policy development, International Relations, Journalism)Minimum of 7 years of professional experiences in a comparable position (media and PR work, Journalism, internal communication),       
  • Profound experience in communication / PR within GIZ or comparable institutions, esp. German, EU or Canadian institutions       
  • Experience in international development organizations, experience working in diverse cultural environments, sound knowledge about VET education      
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and a confident journalistic style that is suited to the different target groups       
  • Excellent knowledge of the Jordanian landscape including a resilient network with relevant stakeholders and institutions
  • Language skills: Arabic native speaker, fluent spoken and written English skills, German language is an asset.

Main Responsibilities 

  • Professional development and implementation of communication and PR strategies for the project with a strategic and creative mindset, manage the social media platforms and direct/ indirect media relations of the project, liaise with other GIZ programs and beyond GIZ to maintain productive working relationships and identifying PR opportunities.      
  • Production of professional communication and PR materials incl. editing and redaction of content (press releases, newsletter, communication campaign, info material, factsheets, GIZ platforms, success stories etc..) in line with the company´s design guidelines and regulations.      
  • Support PR and communication related to events, performing general photo and video documentation of activities according to GIZ the commissioning parties´ regulations and procedures.
  • Coordinate and monitor external communication service providers (contractors, consultants, agencies, photographers, writers, digital media experts)      
  • Support the knowledge management of the project in effectively organize, manage and share documents and knowledge resources within collaboration platforms such as MS Teams and SharePoint,        
  • Organize informational sessions for the team on the use of new or improved communication tools and/or forms.          
  • Support in reporting to the commissioning parties of the MOVE-HET II project.
  • stay informed about industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in communication and PR to continuously improve strategies and tactics and introduce and use in the project material.
  • Where appropriate and reasonable, the position holder is willing to perform tasks outside the scope of the job description.

​Project brief:

The GIZ Jordan project “Supporting the Jordanian Educational Institutions in offering labour market-oriented vocational Education in Jordan (MOVE-HET II)” aims at the improvement of the Jordanian TVET system in terms of governance, labour market relevance, gender equality, and environmental sustainability/ green skills. The project is commissioned by BMZ (German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development) and additional funding is expected from EU and GAC. The MOVE-HET II project is part of the GIZ Cluster for TVET and Education.

The implementation spans national and institutional levels, involving capacity development in vocational education and training for public and private sector stakeholders. The comprehensive project strategy includes capacity development, policy advise, and improved cooperation and coordination within the TVET system.

Performing a sustainable implementation along with our Jordanian partner structure is of utmost importance. For GIZ and our commissioners, an appropriate communication and visibility is a key success factor on all levels.
