Junior Economic Cooperation & PSD Advisor

The “Trade for Employment Project” is seeking to hire a “Junior Economic Cooperation and Private Sector Development Advisor” based in Jordan- for full-time base employment. 

Qualifications and specialist knowledge

  • University degree (B.Sc.) in economics, political science, international development, project management, or an area that is related, focus on labour market and employment is an asset.
  • At least 3 years of experience in areas related to labour market and employment promotion in Jordan, work experience in the GIZ employment sector and/or international organizations is preferable.
  • Ability to quickly familiarize oneself with new topics and to present them in a structured, intuitively understandable way.
  • Ability and willingness to cooperate with others in a team, good communication skills and a strong sense of self-initiative.
  • Fluency (excellent knowledge) in English and Arabic, both spoken and written. 

Main responsabilities

  • Support the economic cooperation and private sector development advisors in the steering and implementation of activities with project partners that aim at improving recruitment and employment practices in trade-oriented businesses for sustainable employment.
  • Coordinate project activities aiming to improve employment, job matching services as well as job quality measures.
  • Support the provision of technical and conceptual advisories to local employment service providers regarding the development of innovative employment practices.
  • Organize, moderate, and support the implementation of meetings and events with partners on national and local levels, including documentation of meetings.
  • Support economic cooperation and private sector development advisors in strengthening existing partnerships and building up new ones.
  • Carry out specific research tasks.
  • Support the project management in carrying out project activities, M&E, and reporting requirements.
  • Support the revision of deliverables and publications in regard to quality and visibility aspects.
  • Support the projects’ administrative and logistic processes. Contribute to innovation and knowledge management, notably on DMS and MS SharePoint/IDA.
  • Where appropriate and reasonable, the position holder is willing to perform tasks outside the scope of the job description.
