ABOUT ARDD

Founded in 2008 in Amman-Jordan, Arab Renaissance for Democracy and Development (ARDD) is a Civil Society Organization seeking to reinitiate a new Nahda (Arab Renaissance) project to contribute to addressing the challenges faced by the Arab World, building on the achievements and ideas of the Arab Nahda and aiming to open the doors forfuture participation in formulating concrete actions to achieve the desired change and development. ARDD supports marginalized individuals and communities—including refugees and migrants— in acquiring and enjoying their social, political, and economic rights, through legal aid, psychosocial support, media and grassroots mobilization, and research and advocacy to raise stakeholders’ awareness locally, regionally and internationally about the challenges that vulnerable persons face in Jordan and the Arab Region. Every employee of the Arab Renaissance for Democracy and Development (ARDD) is committed to pursue the organization’s Mission and abide to ARDD Guiding Principles.

JOB PURPOSE:

To provide financial support, ensure that ARDD policies and procedures are adhered to, and timely and cost-effective services are delivered.

Internal Tasks related to the Finance unit and Administration Department:

  • Report to Head of Department
  • Projects Financial reports and all related tasks
  • Prepare Budgets, revisions upon need
  • Audit and review the monthly payroll for staff and consultants.
  • Supervise and follow up on both the income tax, sales tax, and social security accounts.
  • Supervise the vendors and suppliers’ contracts and payments with the support of the procurement unit.
  • Support during the annual audit process for the organization and project related verification and audits.
  • Prepare ARDD company invoices, account statement, transfers, consultants’ payments and all related transactions and support during the company annual audit.

 

Tasks related to projects and implementation:

  • Prepare financial reports for each project according to donor grant conditions.
  • Ensuring that transaction list is in line with budgets and reflected to financial reports for each project.
  • Provide the required support during the external audit visits per project.
  • Maintain the monthly bank reconciliation against monthly bank statements and bank ledger and monitor all bank deposits, bank balances, cheques, transfers, and payments.
  • Ensure that all Management levels comply with Financial, HR and Procurement policies.
  • Ensure all financial transactions are entered into the financial system accurately and timely.
  • Meet deadlines of financial reporting for projects, internal reporting, and external reporting upon donor’s request.
  • Responsible for issuance of monthly invoices and follow up on the collections.
  • Follow up the installments with donor and program department.
  • Prepare final trial Balance for annual audit.
  • Monitoring on tax deductions for staff and social security payments.
  • Ensuring that all vouchers with related documents are kept in the file and in the place.
  • Other tasks assigned by Management.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance or any other related field.
  • From 3 - 8 years’ experience in finance and accounting.
  • Ability to maintain financial requirements within the development sector.
  • Computer literacy in word processing, spreadsheets, and presentation software, excel and oracle.
