Since 2006, Médecins Sans Frontières has run a reconstructive surgery program in Amman, giving access to reconstructive surgery (orthopedic, plastic, and maxillo-facial) to war-wounded patients from neighboring countries (Iraq, Yemen, Syria, and other countries with conflicts), providing comprehensive healthcare and rehabilitation during their stay in Amman, then ensuring their medical follow-up after discharge.

 

We are currently recruiting for one (1) Part-time Clinical Pharmacy Officer, an 80% activity rate.

 

The Job

To provide Clinical Pharmacy Services, advising health care providers about pharmacological treatment adjustments needed according to patients' specific characteristics (disease, age, and treatment response) to detect and prevent drug adverse events and achieve optimal drug therapy.

 

Dimension of the project

  • Reconstructive Surgery Hospital with an average of 550 admissions per year,
  • Around 1,000 surgeries annually, 
  • 72 surgical beds and 126 rehabilitation beds,
  • 2 OTs for orthopedic, maxillo-facial, and plastic surgeries,
  • OPD within an average of 550 consultations/month 
  • Physiotherapy and psychosocial department, and a micro laboratory within the hospital

 

Accountabilities

  • To work with the pharmacy team to provide comprehensive Clinical Pharmacy Services to patients.
  • To support the dispensaries and clinical wards /departments to ensure that patients receive their medication in a timely, and efficient manner with all the necessary practical and clinical information.
  • To work in collaboration with healthcare professionals to enhance patient safety and ensure that Medicines Management practices are safe and effective.
  • To participate in the Pharmacy training program and provide a high-quality pharmacy service to other specialties when required.
  • Support the provision of pharmacist coverage in the Inpatient and Outpatient pharmacies and ensure medicines are dispensed in a safe, efficient, and accurate way

 

The Job Profile

  • Bachelor’s degree or of pharmacy doctor or clinical pharmacy or higher in pharmacy
  • At least 2 years minimum Experience in clinical pharmacy practices.
  • Essential experience with pharmacy supervision
  • Desirable experience in MSF or other NGOs in developing countries is desirable
  • Written and verbal fluency in English and Arabic are mandatory.
  • Good command of Microsoft Office.
  • Team Worker and a good level of communication.

 

 

WORK LOCATION:            Al Mowasah – Reconstructive Surgery Hospital in Marka, Amman

CONTRACT:                      6 months 80% part-time contract

Probable start date:         Immediately
