is recruiting for its project in Amman a

Biomed Technician – in daily worker status

CONTEXT

Médecins Sans Frontières is a private, non-profit international humanitarian organization dedicated to providing medical assistance to populations in crisis, without discrimination and regardless of race, religion, creed, or political affiliation. Médecins Sans Frontières is running a reconstructive surgery program in Amman, which opened in 2006, is giving access to reconstructive surgery (orthopedic, plastic and maxillo-facial) to war wounded people and providing comprehensive health care. MSF aims at identifying and referring patients from neighboring countries (Iraq, Yemen, Syria, and other countries with conflicts) then ensuring their medical follow-up after discharge.

Médecins Sans Frontières Reconstructive Surgery Hospital in Amman is therefore open the vacancy to feed its pool of Biomed Technician.

MAIN PURPOSE

Performing autonomously and following up, the maintenance and correct repair of the biomed equipment in the project/mission and ensuring regularly that the usual medical maintenance and cleaning are done properly according to MSF standards and procedures, to ensure the equipment are in perfect running conditions.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

Performing and carrying out, all necessary complex/advanced installation maintenance and repair of MSF Biomedical Equipment and ensuring that as few items are out of service at any given time, this include the following Tasks:

• Organizing and participating in the installation of biomedical equipment
•  Following the schedule and carrying out preventive and corrective maintenance works for the equipment according to the MSF and /Or manufacturer protocols, manuals, and recommendation and ensuring that cleaning and simple maintenance are properly carried out by medical Staff.
• Reporting any Issues or problems on biomed equipment to his/her supervisor and proposing solutions ( Training to staff, on device , operating procedures, etc) if maintenance work requires further assistance, documentation , or additional tools, this shall be requested from and provided by his / her supervisor.
• Participating in organizing user training where required
• Managing the stock of spare parts items, filling in the stock cards, carrying out physical stock inventories, executing orders necessary for renewing stock, avoiding any shortage .
•  Responsible for the equipment and tools (including extinguishers), checking they are correctly and safely used, maintaining and renewing them when necessary and keeping the inventory updated.
• Keeping working Area clean and tidy
• Ensuring that all records sheets and books related to maintenance are always completed (including date of intervention, replaced parts problems and solutions) and preparing needed reports before and after any repair or required maintenance.

THE JOB PROFILE

• Diploma in Biomed Equipment Technology, Or Electronic diploma, Electrician Diploma.
• Minimum 1 Years’ experience in medical equipment maintenance, preferred hospital experience
• Ability to work under pressure.
• Have a good communication skill
• Respect MSF policy and working time
• Arabic language, and preferred English language
• Able to lift heavy items (+25 kg)
• Jordanian Nationality

WORK LOCATION:          Amman - Al Mowasah hospital - Northern Marka

CONTRACT:                      No contracts will be signed, and payment will be based on hours performed daily

Probable start date:       Emergencies and when needed
