Job Title: Procurement Officer FSR#542

Location: Amman

Job Summary

The procurement officer will be a member of the procurement team which falls under the logistics department with more focus on major procurement related to the medications and the medical consumables.

MAIN TASKS AND RESPONSABILITIES

  • Plan, coordinate, and execute all procurement activities for International Medical Corps programs.
  • Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers, assess their capabilities, and negotiate favorable terms and conditions.
  • Oversee the bidding process, evaluation of bids, and selection of vendors, ensuring compliance with established procurement policies and procedures.
  • Manage procurement contracts/purchase orders, monitor supplier performance, and address any issues or disputes that may arise.
  • Ensure procurement processes comply with internal policies, donor requirements, and applicable laws and regulations.
  • Maintain a supplier database, assess supplier performance, and establish long-term partnerships with reliable and high-quality vendors.
  • Negotiate and manage supplier contracts, including pricing, terms, and conditions, to achieve cost savings and operational efficiency.
  • Evaluate supplier performance based on key performance indicators (KPIs) and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date procurement documentation, ensuring proper filing and record-keeping.
  • Handling high level value of medications / medical consumables PRs.
  • Submit the payment to the finance department with all the related documents.
  • Ensure coordination among the warehouse team on the delivery timeline.
  • Provide daily/weekly/monthly report as required.
  • Support the logistics department when needed. 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Previous experience in procurement or any area in the logistics department.
  • Minimum three years of experience in any area of the logistics department or at least 2 years in NGO.
  • Bachelor’s degree in pharmacist.
  • Strong knowledge of logistics principles, practices, and regulations, including experience with UN, USAID, and other donor.
  • Familiarity with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
  • Strong on negotiation , communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Attention to detail , with the ability to hand;e multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications.
  • Fluency in English language.
