Consultancy for FCA Jordan’s Creative and Cultural Industries Context and Stakeholders Analysis

1. Background of the Context

Finn Church Aid (FCA) is the largest Finnish organization for development cooperation and the second largest provider of humanitarian assistance. FCA operates in twelve countries in Africa, Asia and the Middle East, and has over 70 years of experience from international aid. FCA specializes in supporting local communities in three priority areas: Right to Livelihood, Right to Quality Education and Right to Peace. FCA operations include long-term development cooperation, humanitarian assistance and advocacy. FCA has been working in Jordan since 2012 with focus on mitigating the impact of the regional refugee crisis especially among youth and young adults. Over the years, the priorities of the country program have gradually shifted from Education in Emergencies to long-term resilience and reduced aid dependency of both refugees and vulnerable host communities. These goals are promoted especially through various  interventions aimed at improving livelihoods. 

2.Purpose of the CCI Context and Stakeholders Analysis

The context and stakeholders analysis is expected to offer in-depth understanding of the Creative & Cultural Industries context in the country in order to support FCA’s to-be-implemented CCI project in 2024-25.

The analysis shall be a basis for planning FCA’s CCI project in terms of furnishing partnerships, understanding the available resources, and responding to needs.

Based on the analysis, FCA plans to widen the partnership/ cooperation possibilities with the relevant stakeholders in order to respond to emerging issues and reflect challenges.

3.Scope of the Context and Stakeholders analysis

Geographical scope

FCA’s current activities in Jordan are focused on Middle and Northern governorates of the country. Namely, Amman, Zarqa, Balqa, Ajloun, Jerash, Irbid, Mafraq governorates. The analysis is expected to look into the context and stakeholders operating in the CCI sector in these governorates. In case of remarkable features in other governorates, which would add immensely to the core of the analysis, that should also be included in the scope of the anaylsis.

Dynamic Scope

Another significant objective of the analysis is to explorethe different dynamics in each geographical area in terms of market variables, economic and social variables. In addition to identification of the available stakeholders/ players in each area.
