CONTEXT

Médecins Sans Frontières is running a reconstructive surgery program in Amman, which opened in 2006, is giving access to reconstructive surgery (orthopedic, plastic and maxillo-facial) to war wounded people providing comprehensive health cares, MSF aims at identifying and referring patients from neighboring countries (Iraq, Yemen, Syria, and other countries with conflicts) then ensuring their medical follow-up after discharge.
Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) Reconstructive Surgery Hospital in Amman is pleased to announce a vacancy for one Physiotherapist (temporary position – maternity leave coverage).
THE JOB
Following medical prescription, planning and carry out individual treatment programs, by assessing patients’ physical state, to maintain, improve or rehabilitate the physical well-being of the patient and prevent physical handicaps.
SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assess patient physical capacities, using different procedures (e.g. functional capacity tests) to set up treatment objectives with the patient and therefore improve patient's health and wellbeing.
- Elaborate and implement physiotherapy programs, including physiotherapy exercises, manipulations, massages, education, utilization of physiotherapy devices and orthopedic equipment, educating and advising patients and their careers on how to prevent and/or improve conditions, to accelerate and improve activity results.
- Train patients and caretakers on how to avoid injury to create preventive behaviors.
- Actively monitor and report physiotherapy activities (correctly filling in patient files, forms, statistics, and reports) and analyze these statistics to improve quality service, preserving patient’s data traceability.
- Take care of physiotherapy equipment, managing stock, making orders according to activity and cleaning up the equipment, to ensure its continuous availability and quality of service.
- Report to the technical referent on any problem arising in the service, especially the loss/ robbery/damage of medical equipment or medicines to implement the appropriate measures.
PROFILE
- Essential: Essential, Physiotherapist official degree/diploma.
- Essential: Licensed by Jordanian Ministry of Health.
- Essential: 2 years, orthopedic experience is an advantage
- Essential: Written and verbal fluency in English and Arabic.
- Essential: Computer literacy (word, excel, internet)
- Highly Desirable: Experience in MSF or other INGOs in Jordan or experience in Hospital settings
WORK LOCATION: Amman - Al Mowasah hospital - Northern Marka
CONTRACT: Full-time contract, duration for (3) months (covering maternity leave).
Desired start date: December 2025
