This is to announce that Amman delegation has a vacancy for a Trainer at the Learning & Development Department in Amman, Jordan.

The Trainer 3 leads the delivery of ICRC LnD courses. These can be multiple LnD programmes delivered in the region or global programmes (such as Working at the ICRC - WICRC , Staff Integration Programme - SIP, Security Awareness and Field Experience – SAFE). S/He also contributes to the ongoing design, evolution and evaluation of those programmes as well as the design and delivery of new or revised programmes, in collaboration with the LnD in AMM.

Trainer 3 has a regional and supra-regional remit.

GENERAL DUTIES

  • Be aware of LnD’s policies, objectives and activities at regional level.
  • Be aware and contribute to the main goals and priorities of the ICRC regions covered. 
  • Understands and adheres to the seven Fundamental Principles of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement
  • Understands and adheres to the ICRC Code of Conduct
  • Understands the roles of the components of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement
  • Respects and observes staff regulations and security rules at all times
  • Represents the ICRC in a professional manner at all times
  • Develops and maintains a pleasant and conducive working environment with colleagues and line managers
  • Performs all duties with the highest level of confidentiality in the interest of the employees and the ICRC

RELATIONSHIPS

  • Internally, interacts with the Programme Manager, delegation focal points for learning and development, HR managers, LnD colleagues, resource persons and learning programme participants.
  • Externally, interacts with learning and development service providers as well as external resource persons.

  • Contributes to formulating regional and global priorities and strategies for learning and development.
  • Contributes to innovation and strategic feedback on global learning priorities.

 

ACCOUNTABILITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Is a focal point for one or more specific program (SIP/SAFE/WICRC) as needed and represents the Unit in its global coordination meetings, discussions, planning, follow up, etc. and leads the internal discussions for the Unit´s contributions to the monitoring and evaluation of the program.
  • Contributes to designing, developing, implementing and evaluating learning and development of new or revised LnD programs and coordinates with the global level.
  • Supervises the administrative and logistical organization of their learning and development programmes as well as other ad hoc courses and carries out related reporting.
  • Supports the ongoing evolution of learning modules, ensuring that their content is in line with the ICRC’s strategic direction and the People Management Strategy.
  • Technically manages, trains and coaches trainers, training relays and administrative staff working on their programmes.
  • Leads the delivery of the learning modules during the distance, face-to-face and work-based learning phases and supports individuals’ learning processes within the respective programmes as required; provides coaching and support, especially during the distance learning and work-based learning phases.
  • Can act as global coordinator for specific programmes managing the worldwide delivery.
  • May manage Trainer 1 and 2 or a team of trainers.
  • Contributes to learning needs analysis for individuals, units, teams or delegations.
  • Provides inputs for the unit’s annual planning by contributing to the formulation of regional priorities and strategies for learning and development.

 

EDUCATION AND PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • Masters’ degree or equivalent experience in management or leadership training.
  • Minimum of 12 years of relevant experience in training design and delivery (or 10 years of experience with the ICRC in multiple contexts)
  • Good command of English and either French, Arabic or Spanish.
  • Computer proficiency.
  • Training qualification required or must undertake specialized training in learning and development delivery within one year of taking on the role.
  • Excellent communication skills
