Who we are
SOS Children's Villages Jordan is a national non-profit organization established in 1983 to provide alternative care for children and youth who lack parental care or are at risk of losing it.
What distinguishes our care model is providing integrated care for children and youth, by covering all their needs including care, accommodation, education and skills, protection and social inclusion, food security, physical health, livelihood, and social and emotional wellbeing. The Association is guided by the UN Guidelines for the Alternative Care for Children and the Convention on the Rights of the Child issued by the United Nations. The Association also aligns its efforts with the principles of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, where the goals of the United Nations for sustainable development come within the focus of the Association's work and strategy.
Why we need you?
We are seeking a Subject Matter Expert (SME) to lead the development of content for a new project website focused on substance use prevention, early detection, and intervention in Jordan. The SME will ensure that all content is evidence-based, culturally relevant, and tailored to the needs of Jordanian communities. This role is critical for providing accurate, accessible, and engaging resources for the general public, youth, families, educators, and community leaders.

Job Requirements
Education:
- Master’s degree or higher in psychology, social work, counseling, public health, or related fields.
Experience:
- 7–10 years in mental health, substance abuse prevention, or public health communication.
- Experience developing educational or awareness content for digital platforms (websites, e-learning, campaigns).
- Proven ability to adapt content for diverse audiences in Jordan or the MENA region.
- Familiarity with online engagement strategies and health communication.
Skills:
- Excellent writing and communication in Arabic and English.
- Ability to translate complex topics into clear, engaging, and accessible content.
- Collaborative, experienced in multi-stakeholder projects.
- Submission of a sample of previous similar work required.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop core bilingual content for the website on substance use prevention, early detection, and intervention.
- Ensure materials are culturally and contextually appropriate for Jordan.
- Draft awareness messages, educational guides, FAQs, and referral resources.
- Collaborate with SOS CVJO to finalize resources for publication.
- Advise on interactive website features to enhance user engagement.
- Review and approve all final website content before launch.

- 12 educational guides (Arabic & English)
- 1 referral resource directory (Arabic & English)
- 30 FAQs (Arabic & English)
- Final SME-approved bilingual content package ready for publication
- Written recommendations on interactive features
Duration
- Short-term, task-based engagement: 20–25 working days
- Timeline: November 1 – December 31, 2025
Reporting and Coordination
- Reports to the Project Manager at SOS CVJO
- Coordinates with website development team and Anti-Narcotics Department
