Islamic Relief Jordan is a country branch of Islamic Relief Worldwide. Islamic Relief Worldwide is an internationally recognized charity, looking back on nearly 40 years of experience in humanitarian and developmental aid. It was founded in 1984 in Birmingham, UK, in response to the devastating famine in the Horn of Africa. Since then, Islamic Relief has grown into a charity that is active worldwide, putting development projects, emergency aid, and rebuilding projects into action in over 28 countries around the world.
Islamic Relief Jordan (IRJ) began its operations in 1997 with orphan’s sponsorship, sponsoring hundreds of orphans living in Jordan. IRJ extended its programs to seasonal projects with Ramadan and Qurbani distributions and In-Kind donations. IRJ has established strong partnership with international non-governmental organization and local one’s strengthening the overall response to the Syria crisis. At the onset of Syria humanitarian crisis in late 2011, IRJ provided emergency response to those affected by violence in Syria and has since then scaled up its capacity and operations with number of 70 staff across the country.

The team will be offered transportation from 2 locations: Amman and Zarqaa.
Islamic Relief Jordan country office is seeking to hire the following position:
The Treatment Nurse provides direct clinical care and nursing procedures to patients based on established protocols and physician orders. This role ensures safe, effective, and timely delivery of treatments, supporting patient recovery and health outcomes.
Major Responsibilities:
- Clinical Care & Procedures
- Administer medications (oral, IM, IV) and maintain IV lines/catheters as prescribed.
- Provide wound care, dressing changes, suture removal; manage acute and chronic wounds (e.g. diabetic foot ulcers).
- Assist physicians in minor procedures when needed.
- Provide first-aid/basic emergency care and participate in triage of incoming patients; prioritise urgent cases and refer severe cases appropriately.
- Patient Monitoring
- Monitor vital signs and patient response to treatments.
- Manage follow-up care for patients requiring multiple visits (e.g. chronic illness, wound care).
- Conduct home-visit follow-ups or outreach when applicable (e.g. for vulnerable, disabled, or bedridden patients).
- Health Education & Community / Preventive Care
- Educate patient and caregiver on medication uses, home wound care, hygiene, nutrition, chronic disease management, and preventive measures.
- Participate in community-health outreach, health promotion workshops, hygiene and disease-prevention campaigns in the camp.
- Record-keeping, Data & Reporting
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records (paper or EMR), patient registers, follow-up logs, dressing/wound-care logs, and referral records.
- Report on patient load, treatments administered, stock usage, incidents, and other required health indicators for monitoring and evaluation.
- Assist in compiling regular health reports weekly, monthly, and quarterly.
- Team Cooperation & Coordination
- Work closely with physicians, triage staff, pharmacists, other nurses, and external health facilities as needed.
- Participate in staff meetings, case reviews, coordination with other partners, health-promotion initiatives, and outreach planning.
- At times may need to assist with supervision or mentoring of junior / community health staff, interns, or volunteers.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- A valid nursing license is required.
- Preferred: 1 year of experience in emergency care, outpatient services, or primary care.
- Preferred experience in working in Syrian refugee camp, Azraq or Zaatari
- Strong assessment and critical thinking skills are essential.
- The ability to make quick clinical decisions under pressure is necessary.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are important.
- Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) is a plus.
- Certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) are preferred.
