JOB SUMMARY

The Community Health Nurse – Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH) is responsible for delivering comprehensive, culturally sensitive sexual and reproductive health services within community settings. The role focuses on health promotion, disease prevention, education, and advocacy to improve SRH outcomes for individuals, families, adolescents, and underserved populations.

MAIN TASKS AND RESPONSABILITIES

  1. Plan and deliver structured, evidence-based SRH education sessions for adolescents, covering topics such as puberty, menstrual health, contraception, prevention of sexually transmitted infections (STIs), early marriage, and gender-based violence, in line with national guidelines and cultural context.
  2. Facilitate community outreach activities, health awareness campaigns, workshops, and group discussions to strengthen SRH knowledge and reduce stigma, particularly among adolescents and caregivers.
  3. Provide age-appropriate counseling and health education to individuals, families, and community groups, promoting informed decision-making and healthy behaviors.
  4. Maintain accurate, confidential, and up-to-date documentation of education activities, referrals, and client interactions in line with data protection and reporting standards.
  5. Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of SRH education and outreach interventions, contributing to program learning and continuous quality improvement.
  6. Conduct health assessments to identify community health risks and needs.
  7. Ability to identify targeted cases and refer them to nearest suitable medical care.
  8. Educate community members on disease prevention, nutrition, hygiene, and healthy lifestyle practices.
  9. Facilitate health workshops, seminars, and outreach programs.
  10. Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare professionals and local organizations.
  11. Document patient care activities and maintain accurate health records.
  12. Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of health interventions and adjust plans as needed.
  13. Advocate for community health policies and resources to improve access to care

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  1. Bachelor’s \Diploma degree in nursing or Midwifery.
  2. Training or experience in sexual and reproductive health, public health, or community health nursing.
  3. Strong knowledge of SRH principles, guidelines, and ethical standards.
  4. Excellent communication, counseling, and cultural competency skills.
  5. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in diverse community settings.
