Perform independent, objective activities to add value and improve the organization's operations in addition to evaluating and improving the effectiveness of risk management, internal control and governance processes by providing recommendations for improvement.

To prepare and issue out the Daily Revenue Report every morning to the Senior team.

In-charge of auditing & ensuring all the revenue postings in opera are streamlined and posted to the correct revenue codes as assigned in Opera.

Ensuring the revenue journals are balancing and are posted on a daily basis.

To perform various spot checks in different outlets on a weekly basis to make sure all the outlets are reporting and posting all the revenue correctly through micros in to Opera.

Ensuring all micros open checks are closed on a daily basis and any unclosed micros checks should be investigated immediately.

To perform weekly spot checks on all the out of order & vacant rooms to ensure they have been reported correctly with a valid reason.

Daily recording of Management and Adjustment allowances to be communicated to the Cluster General Manager;

Ensuring the month end deadlines for the all the month end tasks and reports are met every month.

In charge of posting and processing the commission payments to the travel agent based on the commission percentage agreed.

Performs all reasonable tasks requested by the management and relating to the Finance department’s engagement towards the hotel’s goals.

Keeps abreast of newest trends and innovations in the hospitality industry.

Takes a proactive approach to Accounting activity, anticipating potential opportunities.

Maintain effective communication within the department and ensure that the Chief Accountant is kept well informed of any problems/queries that have arisen.

To attend any department training sessions and/or meetings required.

To liaise with other departments to ensure good communication and offer support.


Skills

  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years relevant experience within hospitality or related industry
  • Experience of variance roles within a Finance environment
  • Knowledge of Income Audit will be considered a bonus

Familiar with hotel accounting as well as hotel operations spreadsheet and word processing skills (Microsoft Office) and have the drive to initiate new ideas or plans

Knowledge of AP processes and practices

organised and methodical approach

High level of accuracy and attention to detail

Good to excellent ability to interpret and report financial information

Time management for meeting strict deadlines

Knowledge of an accounting stem (preferably SUN) is required

Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting
