ROLE PURPOSE:

The Health Educator will play a crucial role in raising awareness, providing training sessions, and facilitating workshops for adolescents and their caregivers, particularly focusing on accessibility to menstrual hygiene products. This role involves adapting available materials, conducting MHM training sessions, and ensuring the dissemination of essential information to promote proper menstrual hygiene practices among adolescents in the Al Zaatari Refugee Camp.

 

SCOPE OF ROLE:

Reports to: Health Project’s officer

Staff directly reporting to this post: None.

 

KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:

  1. Conduct Menstrual Hygiene Management (MHM) training sessions for adolescent girls and their caregivers at the Al Zaatari Refugee Camp.
  2. Adapt existing educational materials to suit the cultural context and specific needs of the target population.
  3. Organize workshops and awareness sessions to raise awareness about menstrual hygiene management.
  4. Address accessibility issues related to menstrual hygiene products for adolescent girls.
  5. Maintain accurate records and write comprehensive reports on MHM training sessions and awareness workshops conducted on a monthly basis.
  6. Collaborate closely with the project officer to report any challenges, successes, or issues encountered during program implementation.
  7. Any other tasks required from the management.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Essential:

  • Degree in Nursing.
  • Minimum of two years of relevant experience in Reproductive health, women health, menstrual hygiene management.
  • Experience in providing training sessions, and awareness sessions, especially to youth, adolescent girls or boys, and adults
  • Previous work experience in an emergency or refugee camp setting is a plus.
  • Strong communication (written and spoken), and interpersonal skills in English and Arabic
  • Ability and willingness to be in the camp on daily basis.
