Job Description and Requirements

The “German-Jordanian Centre for Labour Mobility ZME Project” is seeking to hire an “Vocational Training and Labour Market Advisor - Focus: Labour Market and Migration” for full-time based employment. 

Qualifications and specialist knowledge

  • Bachelor’s degree in social science, economics, engineering, and any other related field
  • At least 7 years of professional experience and relevant expertise in project and contract management
  • At least 5 years professional experience within the Jordanian Career Guidance and Counselling system, focused on the field of TVET
  • Very good organizational and networking skills
  • Proven experience in cooperating with the Jordanian Ministry of Labour (MoL)
  • Professional experience in the field of regular migration in labour and vocational training purposes and cooperating with Jordanian partners
  • Proven experience in setting up corporate branding and promotion campaigns
  • Advising, empathy, communication, cooperation and methodological skills
  • Commitment, team spirit, reliability, gender competence and intercultural understanding
  • Very good digital competencies (MS Office: MS Teams, Power Point etc.)
  • Excellent communication skills ▪ Excellent Arabic and English language skills

Main Responsibilities 

  •  Advising the clients of the German Jordanian Centre for Labour Mobility (GJC) (people interested in migration, job seekers, students, returnees, people in vulnerable situations etc.) in terms of labour and training purposes, regional migration as well as returnees on reintegration
  • Advising on visa related issues, including blue card, employment and studying in Germany and the region, diploma recognition and career orientation
  • Preparing and implementing training measures for people interested in labour and qualification migration as well as referral to training measures at partner institutions and the sister project “Programme Partnership Approaches to Development-oriented Vocational Training and Labour Migration – PAM” (intercultural preparatory measures like language course, technical trainings).
  • Providing advice about available portals and platforms, like “Make it in Germany”
  • Providing online advice through different GJC instruments, including social media
  • Establish and manage partnerships with Jordanian and German institutions
  • Organizing advice in different Jordanian institutions and offering advice to people interested in labour migration country wide 
  • Where appropriate and reasonable, the position holder is willing to perform tasks outside the scope of the job description.
