Senior Sales / Sales Manager

Jordan - Amman

A leading company in chemical trading industry is looking to hire Sales Manager for their offices in Amman, Jordan.

Main Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • Market Analysis and Strategy: Support the General Manager in analyzing market trends, market segmentation, market prices, competitive information, and gather all relevant information within his areas of expertise and geographical area.
  • Lead market prospection and locate new opportunities: Investigate the market for new potential business opportunities within his areas of expertise, visit them, understand their needs, advice and propose tailor made solutions for the clients with the aim to gain new opportunities and increase market share. Work in line with the strategy defined with his General Manager, and report to him/her on a constant base.
  • Handle Clients Visit and Relationships Management: Visit, on a regular, all clients and prospects of the affiliated group of companies and build close and good relations with them, while ensuring a professional and proper follow up of their needs. Based on instruction of the affiliated group of companies and with the support of the manager, resolve efficiently potential problems with clients and coordinate internally with the other departments the appropriate solutions and actions to undertake.
  • Understand marketplace: Understand the overall market sales process and the cooperation dynamics among various organization departments for the benefit of organization as well as to meet client requirements.
  • Accounts database update: Ensure that the appropriate and relevant information related to each account is constantly updated in the system and client database.
  • Analyzing market condition, policies, and procedures: Systematically analyzing and aligning the terms and conditions of market with the company‘s policy frame and procedures; make recommendations about procedural/policy changes and improvements.
  • Administration services, reporting and internal meetings: Ensure with the support of the Administration team, that all documentation related to the clients is recorded and filed correctly; Prepare regular reports to be discussed with the management, and participate to internal management meetings

Key competences/ skills and Experiences required for the job:

  • Education: University level degree ideally Chemical Engineering or Chemist degree.
  • Market research and business development experience, minimum 10-15 years, ideally in the required area of expertise, Solvents, coating, construction, Pharma, Personal Care, Home care, Petrochemicals & Refineries with a good knowledge of the industry, and a strong client and solution/ service orientation, while remaining company and business focused.
  • Excellent technical and negotiation skills, with the ability to advice, convince and close the deal.
  • Self-motivated, dynamic and entrepreneurial mindset, result driven, with a high level of initiative and autonomy.
  • Influential Leadership with excellent relationship, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Analytical and strategic mindset.
  • Team player with ability to interact and work efficiently with internal actors.
  • Presentable and confident.
  • Good time management.
  • High level of responsibility, with the sense of loyalty and business ethics.
  • Languages: Very good knowledge of English and Arabic (written and spoken).
