MEDICAL DOCTOR

Médecins Sans Frontières is running a reconstructive surgery program in Amman, which opened in 2006, is giving access to reconstructive surgery (orthopedic, plastic and maxillo-facial) to war wounded people providing comprehensive health cares, MSF aims at identifying and referring patients from neighboring countries (Iraq, Yemen, Syria, and other countries with conflicts) then ensuring their medical follow-up after discharge.

Médecins Sans Frontières Reconstructive Surgery program in Amman and is seeking recruitment for (1) Medical Doctor.

THE JOB

Provide outpatient and/or inpatient medical care to patients/beneficiaries according to adapted and up-dated medical knowledge, MSF protocols, values and universal hygiene standards to improve the patients’ health conditions.

SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITIES

• Apply medical knowledge and skills to diagnosis and prevention
• Prescribe relevant treatment according to MSF guidelines and protocols
• Ensure a medical follow-up of quality and if necessary (and possible) refer to other health facilities
• Apply hygiene standards in all medical activities
• Keep informed the patient and his family about any development
• Collaborate with nurses and team supervisor in indicating the needs in medical equipment and drugs
• Responsible of in-patients, coordinates activities around patients in the ward.
• Ensure the systematic and organized follow up of previous hospitalized patients in OPD

PROFILE

• Recognized medical doctor diploma/degree is required
• MOH license to work in Jordan is required
• Registration with the Jordan Medical Association is required
• Written and verbal fluency in English and Arabic is required
• 2 years’ experience in known Hospital, preferably in a surgical ward for orthopaedic plastic, and/or

Maxillofacial surgeries

• Experience in the medical management of chronic osteomyelitis cases (including the required

Antibiotic protocols and safe administration for each infection) is preferred

• Experience in pain management protocols including neuropathic pain management is preferred

WORK LOCATION:    Amman - Al Mowasah hospital - Northern Marka

CONTRACT:                Full-time contract, duration for (6) months renewable

Probable start date:  7^th of July 2024
