Technology Specialist

Position Purpose

The Technology Specialist thrives in a fast‐paced environment, to ensure the creative and smart adoption of new technologies to support the different operations of the school. The Technology Specialist is an instinctive collaborator who is required to work with multidisciplinary team members and staff to facilitate the use of technology on and off-campus and help the school achieve its digital strategy objectives and overall mission.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Effectively manage technology services, tools and platforms that meet the operational requirements of the school both on-campus and off-campus and serve as the technology liaison with the different school stakeholders.
  • Implement and coordinate the implementation of the school’s technology operations, projects, and programs, and ensure the alignment of technology platforms and services with the operational and academic needs of the school.
  • Ensure the smart adopting technologies at the school in full adherence to school’s project management procedures and management practices.
  • Provide technical leadership on a variety of highly specialized project-related activities requiring expertise in specific technical areas for core technology systems and services.
  • Review vendor contracts and coordinate technology related purchases (hardware, software and services) to ensure effective deployment of solutions aligned with school needs.
  • Participate in the development, implementation, and maintenance of policies, objectives, short- and long-term technology planning.
  • Participate as a member of the technology team in planning, problem resolution, and reviewing technology projects’ successes and failures.
  • Maintain up to date and current knowledge with respect to relevant state-of-the-art technology, equipment, and/or systems for the educational landscape.
  • Evaluate and report on the performance of the assigned systems and applications.
  • Research the latest technologies used to identify software and digital educational resources available to meet specific school, teacher and student needs.
  • Collaborate/coordinate with teachers to support the use of technology in delivery of curricula through a variety of instructional strategies both on and off-campus.
  • Provide customer-focused support to the different school stakeholders including students, parents, and staff.
  • Perform daily system monitoring to ensure all implemented technologies and platforms are operating to the highest efficiency standards.
  • Perform any other assignment as deemed necessary by the school’s leadership body.

Position Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or any related fields.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
  • Fluency in Arabic and English is a must.
  • Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively with various team members.
  • Adeptness at analyzing facts, problem solving, decision-making, and demonstrating good judgment.
