The “Portfolio Management Unit in GIZ Jordan” is seeking to hire a “Communication Specialist” for full-time base employment.

Qualifications and specialist knowledge

Qualifications

  • University Degree: A master’s degree in communications, marketing, journalism, international relations, or a related field is required. Alternatively, a bachelor’s degree in one of these fields with 5 to 10 years of relevant experience is also suitable.
  • Relevant Experience: At least 3-5 years of relevant experience in corporate communication, including social media management (LinkedIn), or content creation, preferably in the international development sector.
  • LinkedIn Expertise: Demonstrated expertise and a strong track record in leveraging LinkedIn as a strategic platform for networking, brand building, and content distribution. Proficiency in utilizing analytics tools to track, analyse, and interpret metrics and insights, enabling data driven decision-making and continuous optimization of communication strategies. 
  • German is an asset 

Specialist Knowledge 

  • Writing and Storytelling Skills: Exceptional writing and storytelling skills, with a portfolio show-casing the ability to craft compelling narratives and create high-quality content tailored to LinkedIn's professional audience.
  • Strategic Thinking and Alignment: Strategic mindset and ability to align communication measures with an overall communication strategy and within a corporate communication framework, ensuring that all communication activities contribute to GIZ Jordan's organizational goals and objectives.
  • Collaborative Working Style: Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills, with a proven ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and partners to amplify messaging and achieve shared objectives of the organization.
  • Innovation and Curiosity: Innovative mindset and adaptability to evolving trends and technologies in digital communication, with a commitment to exploring new approaches and strategies to enhance GIZ Jordan's presence and impact on LinkedIn.
  • Analytical Proficiency: Proficiency in utilizing analytics tools to track, analyse, and interpret LinkedIn metrics and insights, enabling data-driven decision-making and continuous optimization of communication measures.
  • Cross-Cultural Competence: Understanding of cultural nuances and sensitivities, particularly within the Jordanian context, to adapt communication strategies to resonate with diverse audiences on LinkedIn. 

Main Responsibilities:

  • Refine and implement GIZ Jordan’s Communication Strategy: Refine and lead the execution of an integrated communication strategy across various channels, including LinkedIn, to support GIZ Jordan's organizational goals and objectives.
  • Content Creation and Distribution: Co-Create and distribute compelling content across multiple channels, including social media platforms, websites, local media, and publications.
  • Stakeholder Engagement and Relationship Management: Cultivate and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, partners, and target audiences.
  • Analytics and Performance Measurement: Utilize analytics tools and performance metrics to track, analyze, and evaluate the effectiveness of communication initiatives.
  • Brand Management and Reputation Building: Manage and enhance GIZ Jordan's brand identity and reputation through consistent messaging, visual branding, and proactive reputation management strategies.
  • Collaboration and Coordination: Collaborate with internal teams, project managers, technical experts, and external partners.
  • Training and Capacity Building: Provide training, guidance, and support to team members and stakeholders on communication best practices, tools, and techniques to enhance overall communication capabilities and effectiveness.
  • Innovation and Adaptation: Stay informed about emerging trends, technologies, and best practices in communication, proactively exploring innovative approaches and adapting strategies to meet evolving audience needs and communication challenges.
  • Where appropriate and reasonable, the position holder is willing to perform tasks outside the scope of the job description
