Context
The Amman Support Office is responsible for all MSF facilities (offices and apartments) for OCA & OCG in Amman.
The cleaner executes, according to hygienic standards, housekeeping, cleaning and tidying up activities in order to ensure public and staff private areas are in good condition.


Objectives of the position & scope of responsibilities
Clean Daily MSF premises, in particular:
- Ventilate all rooms.
- Sweep and mop the floors; Dust furniture.
- Clean the toilets (detergent) in the morning upon arrival and at the beginning of the afternoon.
- Clean ceilings, removing spiders and cobwebs.
- Clean the furniture at least twice a week.
- Clean the water filters every week and Coordinate with admin team to inform logistic to change the filter at least once every 6 months.
- Wash curtains and other fabrics at least once a month or when needed.
- Clean the windows at least once a month.
- Wash blankets and mosquito nets (if used) at least once every 2 months.
- Water indoor plants.
- Air mattresses and expose them to the sun at least once every 2 months.
- Empty and clean all cupboards at least once every 2 months.
- Prepare bedrooms for guests (towel, bed sheets, open windows to air the room, etc.).
Kitchen management
- Wash dishes.
- Empty the waste bins.
- Empty, defrost and clean the refrigerator/freezer every month.
- Clean the kitchen cabinets every month or when necessary.
- Report any pests to line manager and logistic team for follow up and eradication.
- Reception of drinking water and check that number of bottles are sufficient for weekends and public holidays.
Laundry
- Do the laundry and ironing twice a week on average (prioritizing the day when water tanks are re-filled by the City Water Supply).
- Wash towels and bed sheets once a week or as per request.
Consumables management
- Check that the toilets are well stocked with paper, soap.
- Check that the water supply (kitchen, showers, etc.) is sufficient during water cuts.
- Check that the apartment is stocked as per MSF standard list for detergents and update stock cards in monthly base.
- Follow up on consumption of cleaning supplies provided by MSF and report to line manager any anomalies noticed.
Security
- Ensure that the premises are properly locked (doors, windows) and leave an outside light on when the premise are unoccupied.

 


Requirements
Education: Primary education.
Experience: At least 2 years similar experience preferred – with other INGOs an advantage.
Languages:Essential: Arabic and English.
Contract

  •  Full-time position 100%
  •  One-year fixed-term Jordanian contract.
  •  Ideal start date: August 2024
  •  Gross monthly salary: 620 JOD (+ seniority in MSF) according to the internal regulations and salary grid of MSF in Amman
