Major Responsibilities:

- Manage and support the implementation of the Lactation Counselor Certification program (LCCP) activities ensuring timeliness and adherence with the work plan.
- Help Identify any implementation problems and work with the team and the direct supervisor to execute agreed upon solutions.
- Work closely with the relevant team(s) to plan, organize, and manage LCCP related activities, including monitoring and supervision.
- Support and monitor activation of lactation counselor services in model facilities.
- Review the progress of LC services provided in facilities and develop follow up plans to address the challenges.
- Prepare for and participate in conducting LCCP training activities including the classroom, clinical, and practicum components.
- Identify further capacity building needs and lead refresher activities as required.
- Coordinate and support activities related to the LCCP supportive supervisory mechanism.
- Conduct LC supervisory visits to the certified lactation counselors and conduct on-the-job training as needed and submit visit reports.
- Support and oversee LC services reporting process ensuring all reporting requirements are met.
- Prepare and submit written weekly progress reports as required.
- Review and analyze LC reported data, prepare brief presentations.
- Undertake all administrative and technical coordination required for supporting the program including onsite follow up visits, monitoring, data collection and reporting on required indicators.

Requirements:

- University degree in health-related field required, (master’s degree is a plus).
- A minimum of 6+ years of relevant experience demonstrable experience in breastfeeding counselling.
- IBCLC certification is required.
- Prior work experience in a non-governmental organization (NGO), or ministry of health facilities.
- Familiarity with the latest training and teaching methodologies and techniques.
- Ability to lead a full training cycle.
- Good Communication Skills.
- Certified training of trainer’s certificate is a plus.
- Experience in the usage of computers and office software packages (MS word, Excel, etc.).

Language Requirements:

- Excellent English & Arabic communication skills (both oral and written).
