Position Overview:
The Community Engagement (CE) Training Development Coordinator is responsible for supporting the Mass Media and Community Policing Directorate (MMCPD) in developing their approach to planning, delivering, and evaluating their CE curriculum.
Core Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with MMCPD: Help develop their capability to plan, coordinate, and deliver MMCPD-led training interventions.
- Focus on Broader Training: Target the training interventions to achieve wider training of Community Police Officers (CPO) and Local Councils (LC).
- Develop Trainers: Enhance MMCPD trainers' ability to work with non-Public Security Directorate (PSD) audiences, particularly LC.
- Facilitation Skills: Improve MMCPD trainers' delivery capability with a focus on facilitation skills.
- Mentorship: Mentor PSD trainers during LC sessions.
- Evaluation Culture: Assist MMCPD in fostering an evaluation culture to improve their LC content and trainers.
- Recommendations: Provide recommendations to the CE Lead on broader curriculum opportunities or content development, where appropriate.
Training Administration:
- Coordination: Work closely with the CE training facilitator on the broader coordination of all CE thematic activities.
- Timetables & Logistics: Participate in developing PSD training timetables and logistics to support Community Engagement objectives.
- Liaison Role: Coordinate with the Project Manager and Operations Manager regarding MMCPD logistics requirements for specified PSD training activities.
- Material Management: Develop training material purchase orders and submit them to the Community Engagement team as needed.
- Venue Support: Support logistics at the venue during training, as agreed with the Operations Manager.
- Attendance & Documentation: Log daily attendance as per MEL requirements and upload photographic evidence of training to SharePoint.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Liaise with PSD Trainers to facilitate communication between PSD and TAG concerning stakeholder engagement.
- Training Support: Assist PSD training delivery as instructed by the component lead, and report on training delivery while supporting any MEL requirements as per program needs.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate training project documentation within SharePoint.
Wider Project Contributions:
- Meeting Participation: Attend Community Engagement team meetings and any additional ‘exceptional’ meetings as required.
- Strategic Reviews: Participate in monthly or quarterly strategic reviews as requested by the PCDP leadership team.
- Advisory Role: Provide input, advice, and suggestions on PSD engagement, stakeholder management strategies, project challenges, and opportunities to the PCDP leadership team.
- Cultural Feedback: Offer cultural and organizational feedback/advice to TAG personnel to respect cultural approaches and differences.
- Translation: Provide translation for meetings when necessary.
Reporting Lines:
This position reports directly to the CE Thematic Lead and onward to the Technical Lead.
Deliverables:
- Training Timetables & Plans: Production of appropriate PSD training timetables and delivery plans that support project objectives.
- Course Debriefs: Production of course debriefs and broader recommendations to achieve project deliverables.
- Trainer Observations: Post-course trainer observations.
- Document Submission: Timely submission of translated documents, training materials, and correspondence when necessary.
- Meeting Participation: Active participation in meetings and provision of detailed briefings as required.
- MEL Adherence: Adherence to MEL requirements and on-time delivery.
