The Coordinator – Finance (Accountant) is responsible for supporting the finance function by providing the relevant Head Office with timely and accurate reporting.
Accounting Responsibilities
- Appraise, evaluate, and inventory property and equipment, and records description, value, location, and other information
- Perform daily, weekly and monthly sales reconciliations; receiving sales invoices and files, tracking changes, and reconciling with various stakeholders
- Assist Auditors when an audit is being done
- Make sure that the required monthly accounts transactions and reports are produced on time
- Prepare the monthly operating management reports (revenue and staff cost) and help the managers in their monthly analysis of their revenue and cost
- Assist the Finance Manager on forecasts and budgets preparation
- Analyse records of financial transactions to determine accuracy and completeness of entries
- Perform daily, weekly and monthly sales reconciliations; receiving sales invoices and files, tracking changes, and reconciling with various areas
Administrative
- Control on a monthly basis the Petty Cash
- Ensure the preparation of statutory accounts
- Prepare the monthly management report (Financial result) in an accurate and timely manner
Payroll
- Review the payroll pre-process and process the monthly card for staff salaries, full and final settlements and inter-company / head office transfers
Reporting
- Prepare balance sheet, profit and loss statement, amortization and depreciation schedules, fixed asset register and other financial reports
- Prepare accurate reports of activities as required by the management team
- Ensure that all financial and regulatory reports required by law, regulations, and management are completed
Policies and Procedures
- Ensure that all financial accounting and reporting in the company are as per the International Accounting and Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
- Recommend improvements to divisions policy and implement procedures and controls covering all areas of the Finance function, so that all relevant functions are fulfilled while delivering quality, cost effective service to customers
Human Capital Responsibilities
- Proactively identify and seek professional development opportunities to improve leadership and technical skills pertaining to the direct line of work
- Apply and follow MAF Retail’s Human Capital corporate policies and relevant procedures and instructions
- Provide training and feedback to direct reportees when required

Minimum Qualifications/education
- Bachelor of Finance, Business Administration or Commerce

- 0-2 years in a similar position
