Regional Finance Manager (12 M Fixed Term )

About the role:

The Regional Finance Manager will deliver strategic financial services for our Middle East country programmes. The role involves managing accounting tasks to ensure compliance with internal and donor requirements, optimizing financial efficiency, and supporting the region’s programmatic goals. This is a 12-month fixed-term contract for a secondment cover.

About you:

You will bring significant financial experience in either commercial or NGO sectors and are at least part-qualified (ACA, CIMA, ACCA, or equivalent). Strong interpersonal skills and experience working across diverse teams are essential. Advanced Excel proficiency, exceptional analytical skills, and an ability to communicate complex financial data clearly are required. You should be flexible, innovative, and solution-oriented, with the ability to travel to remote locations on short notice.

Summary of Job Description:

Business Partnering

  • Provide financial insights and support as a trusted advisor to the Regional Director and programme teams.
  • Collaborate with Strategic Partnerships, HR, Fundraising, Procurement, and Logistics teams.
  • Ensure transparency and accountability in financial matters with donors, partners, and external stakeholders.

Forecasting and Business Planning

  • Assist in developing and implementing realistic annual business plans.
  • Review and challenge quarterly and monthly financial forecasts, providing analysis and risk information.

Grant Management and Compliance

  • Support the preparation of financial proposals for donors, ensuring full cost coverage and compliance with guidelines.
  • Monitor and forecast cash flow for projects, ensuring accuracy in financial records and adherence to donor regulations.

Financial Management

  • Lead the monthly financial close process, ensuring accuracy in accounting.
  • Review balance sheet accounts, analyze trends, and provide feedback to programmes.
  • Support audits and produce annual statutory accounts where required.

Capacity Building and Training

  • Recruit, onboard, and develop finance staff, fostering continuous improvement.
  • Manage and mentor a regional finance team, providing technical training on best practices.
  • Promote financial accountability, transparency, and compliance across all programmes.
