Job Title: Pediatrician FSR # 628
Location: Azraq

Job Summary:

To provide all necessary medical services, both therapeutic and preventive, in the field of pediatrics, including examination, diagnosis, and treatment in the Pediatrics Department. This also involves overseeing all services provided in the Pediatrics and maternity department for neonatal resuscitation.

Main Tasks and Responsibilities 

  • Supervise the nursing staff in providing the nursing care to pediatric cases. Train them in departmental treatment methods and evaluate their performance.
  • Direct supervision of patients within the Pediatrics Department, including clinical examination, diagnosis, and treatment of newborns and children.
  • Perform neonatal resuscitation in the maternity department of obstructive labor, operative deliveries, and Cesarean sections.
  • Prescribe necessary laboratory tests, radiological examinations, evaluate results, make diagnoses, and proceed with appropriate treatment and follow-up.
  • Document necessary health data and the progression of patients' conditions, as well as prescribe appropriate diets in the medical records.
  • Assess the clinical condition and examine all children referred to from PHC clinics, nutrition clinics (SAM cases) and prescribe appropriate treatment plan.
  • Review and provide feedback to the pharmacy with necessary pediatric medicines and fluids within the appropriate timeframe.
  • Attend meetings and specialized training programs within the department and the hospital.
  • Supervise, educate, and guide nursing staff on optimal and modern methods of medical care for newborns and children.
  • Visit patients, guide nursing staff on necessary procedures for each patient, and participate in patient inquiries.
  • Participate in preparing statistics and medical reports in the field of pediatric specialization (e.g., neonatal mortality, pediatric mortality).
  • Perform night shifts and provide pediatric emergency services in the ER and maternity department (BEmONC, CEmONC neonatal resuscitation) as well as resolving technical issues within the pediatric context in Azraq hospital.
  • Develop plans and procedures to facilitate the provision of pediatric medical services in outpatient clinics and in patient department.
  • Provide recommendations for the need for medical staff, devices, and medical equipment, in addition to the need for training courses.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Pediatrics Board Certificate (Jordan or Arabic Council)
  • License to practice as a Pediatrician (Issued by Ministry of Health)
  • Membership in the Doctor's Syndicate as a specialist doctor in Pediatrics.
