The GIZ Jordan Country Office “Logistics Division” is seeking to hire a “Logistics Specialist” based in Jordan- for full-time base employment.
Qualifications and specialist knowledge
- University degree in business administration, logistics, management or any relevant field.
- At least five years of experience in a comparable position
- Client and service-oriented attitude
- High dedication, reliable with high attention to details
- Able to work in a team and self-motivated
- Able to work efficiently under tight deadlines
- Excellent communication, follow-up, organizational and cooperation skills
- Excellent knowledge of English and Arabic
- Excellent working knowledge of IT, Digital Tools and computer applications (MS Office, Excel, Word,……etc)
Main Responsibilities
- Prepares and takes care of all logistic related services concerning GIZ seconded staff members, such as visa extensions, residency & work permits, Jordanian driving license, shipment clearance and vehicle purchase. This includes preparing the related official letters, uploading applications on the related Ministries and Institutions websites, booking and scheduling needed appointments and following up the overall process until finalized.
- Participating in the tender opening process by receiving incoming offers, documents and e-mails from suppliers and bidders.
- Takes care of data entry, preparation and updating of monitoring lists/sheets/brochures.
- Takes care of customs clearance matters with the clearance companies and prepares all needed official letters.
- Assures correctness of incoming shipping documents with external suppliers, GIZ projects, and forwarders.
- Handling shipment of files to Head Office in Germany, in accordance with the rules and regulations
- Performing all daily duties in the assigned area of responsibility.
- Updating the IDA page related to the Logistics Division.
Where appropriate and reasonable, the position holder is willing to perform tasks outside the scope of the job description.
