Examination Officer
We are inviting applications for the position of Examination Officer in the Secondary School
at ICS Amman. This role is pivotal in ensuring that all examinations are conducted smoothly,
adhering to the highest standards, and providing support to both students and staff
throughout the examination process. The Examination Officer will also provide
administrative support to the Secondary Leadership Team concerning the collating and
analysis of testing and reporting data.
Key Responsibilities:
● Manage and oversee all aspects of the examination process, including scheduling,
coordination, and administration.
● Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with examination regulations.
● Coordinate with external examination boards and internal departments.
● Provide clear communication and support to students, staff, and parents regarding
examination procedures and requirements.
● Support the Senior Leadership Team with the collation and analysis of all reporting
and testing data.
● Keep up-to-date with all new procedures and inform staff as necessary.
Requirements:
● Language Proficiency: Fluent in both English and Arabic.
● Organisational Skills: Exceptionally well-organised and detail-oriented.
● School Experience: Familiarity with school systems and an understanding of the
needs of students.
● Flexibility: Willingness to work additional hours during examination periods, including
Fridays, holiday periods, and evenings to accommodate UK time zones.
● IT: Must have strong proficiency in google and microsoft to update and transfer
results data.
● CPL: You will be required to attend CPL to keep updated with current legislation and
share as and when required with staff.
The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of the school environment in an
international school setting, be able to maintain meticulous records, and demonstrate a high
level of professionalism and confidentiality.
There is a requirement to work on Fridays and start the academic year early so as to manage
all external results. You will also need to manage examination timetables for both internal
and external examinations, the staffing of these exams and manage all examination
procedures.
You will be required to work closely with the Head of Data and Reporting, Head of Key stage
4 and the Head of Sixthform.

Examinations Officer
SPECIFIC TITLE: Examinations Officer
GENERIC TITLE: Exams Officer
RESPONSIBLE TO: Head of Secondary
RESPONSIBLE FOR: The operational and strategic leadership of the examinations (Years 7-10
internal and Years 10-13 external). Be accountable for the quality of examination administration.

Role Summary:
The Examinations Officer is responsible for the efficient and secure administration of all public and
internal examinations within the school. This includes the planning, coordination, and
implementation of examination processes in compliance with examination board regulations and the
school's policies. The Examinations Officer will work closely with the Secondary SLT, the Head of
Data & Reporting, staff, students, and parents to ensure the smooth operation of examination
activities.
Main Responsibilities:
A) Strategic direction and development of the school
To work with the Head of Secondary to develop a strategic view of examinations and plan for their
smooth administration:
1. To stay abreast of changes to any public examinations;
2. To ensure compliance with the administration of public examinations;
3. To monitor, evaluate and review any policies concerning the administration of public
examinations, priorities and targets of the school in practice and take action if necessary;
4. To devise and implement the internal examinations schedule for the Secondary School;
B) Results Analysis
To handle the data sets concerning the collection and distribution of examination results to the
relevant parties. The role is diverse and will require proactive and responsive elements. The
requirements are outlined below, but they are not exhaustive:
● Collect November entry requests from Heads of Department (HODs)
● Confirm November entries with Head/HODs
● Collect November entries from students
● Make November entries
● Collect information for Special Arrangements and apply for them
● Arrange outside invigilators and rooming for November exams
● Administer Friday and late afternoon exams
● Dispatch November exams
● Collect syllabus codes/board details from HODs
● Collect January module entries from students and make entries.
● Arrange outside invigilators and rooming for January modules.
● Arrange rooming and invigilation for Mock Exams.
● Timetable Mock exams.
● Collect May/June entry requests from HODs.
● Confirm May/June entries with HODs.
● Arrange outside invigilators for May/June exams.
● Train Invigilators for May/June exams.
● Administer Friday and late afternoon exams.
C) Leading and Managing Staff
To lead, motivate, support, challenge, and develop staff:
● Maximise the contribution of staff to improve the quality of education provided and
standards achieved, ensuring constructive working relationships between staff and pupils.
● Plan, allocate, support, and evaluate work undertaken by groups, teams, and individuals,
ensuring clear delegation of tasks and devolution of responsibilities.
D) Efficient and Effective Deployment of Staff and Resources
To deploy people and resources efficiently and effectively to meet specific objectives in line with the
school’s strategic plan and financial context:
● Deploy and develop all staff effectively to ensure that all examinations run smoothly;
● Advise the Principal on the adoption of effective procedures to deal with the competence and
capacity of staff;
● Manage, monitor, and review the range, quality, quantity, and use of all available resources to
ensure that examination series run smoothly, and support student development and
performance.
E) Accountability
To be accountable for the efficiency and effectiveness of the examinations to the SLT and others,
including students, parents, staff, and the community:
1. Provide information, objective advice, and support to the SLT to enable them to meet their
responsibilities for securing effective examination administration to secure high standards of
achievement;
2. Present a coherent and accurate account of the school’s performance in a form appropriate
to a range of audiences, including parents, SLT, governors and external
inspectors/accreditors;
3. Ensure that parents and students are well-informed about the examinations, resit
opportunities and key deadlines, ensuring that the school does not face penalties - financial
or otherwise for the late entry of students.
