As an Accountant at Leaders International, you will play a crucial role in supporting the finance department under the guidance of the Senior Finance Officer. Your responsibilities will include assisting in maintaining accurate financial records, handling day-to-day financial transactions, and aiding in the preparation of budgets and financial reports. Collaborating closely with the Senior Finance Officer, you'll contribute to ensuring compliance with financial regulations, supporting grant applications, and providing valuable assistance in financial analysis efforts.
Job Task and Responsibilities

Financial Record Keeping:
- Assist in maintaining accurate financial records in compliance with accounting standards and organizational policies.
- Support daily financial transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll tasks.
- Aid in the preparation and maintenance of budgets under the guidance of the Finance Officer.
Compliance Support:
- Work alongside the Finance Officer to ensure adherence to relevant financial regulations, laws, and reporting requirements for not-for-profit organizations.
- Assist in the preparation of financial reports required by stakeholders, donors, and grantors.
Grants and Funding Assistance:
- Provide support in preparing grant proposals, budgets, and financial reports for funding applications.
- Assist in monitoring grant expenditures to ensure alignment with donor requirements.
Financial Analysis and Reporting:
· Contribute to financial analysis efforts and assist in generating reports for review by the Finance Officer and other stakeholders.
Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience
|
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Prior internship or 1+ years of relevant experience in accounting or finance, preferably in a not-for-profit setting.
- Familiarity with accounting software and MS Office suite.
- Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication skills to collaborate effectively within the team.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to follow instructions and learn quickly.
