Job Title: General Practitioner FSR # 653

Location: Zaatari Camp

Job Summary:

Health care provider.

MAIN TASKS AND RESPONSABILITIES:

  • Monitoring patients' conditions and progress, and re-evaluating treatments, as necessary.
  • To assess and treat or admit patients by reviewing and understanding their medical backgrounds and examining them to assess their current condition and health including suspected/ confirmed COVID-19 patients.
  • Request, perform, interpret and analyze Lab tests (rationally) to diagnose patients' condition. Perform patient physical examination. Analyze test data or images to inform diagnosis or treatment.
  • Assess and examine patients to establish if an advance procedure needed, and prioritize procedures capacity inside the camp vs referrals to outside the camp.
  • Council patients and their families about disease, prognosis and manage expectations.
  • Refer patients to other medical specialists or other practitioners when necessary and participate in ambulance escort when needed.
  • Preparing official health documents or records, when necessary.
  • Work effectively in a multidisciplinary team, collaborating and liaising closely with colleagues including specialist doctors, referral doctor, ER doctors, other GP and surgeons.
  • Provide support and advice to colleagues working in other teams
  • Accurately recording patient interventions and referrals.
  • Undertake associated administrative work.
  • Ensure a rational prescription of medicines from the essential drug list of the camp or provide a medical rational for an exceptional treatment.
  • Ensure the quality, disinfection and sterilization of the medical material under his/her responsibility and assure general compliance with standing hygiene standards;
  • When requested, perform training of the medical/paramedical team in order to optimize the quality of care;
  • Respect and follow the health standard operating procedures (reporting diseases with outbreak nature, HIS reporting, referral procedures, etc.). Ensures professional confidentiality is respected;
  • Additional Tasks when requested.

Ø         In C shift : Extra Tasks as follows :

  • Responsibility of managing referrals during C shifts from camp referral sub-hub during the week as a part of their duties (C-shift will be aligned with central hub working hours to ensure no gaps of duties working hours).
  •  Initiate and validate the referral from ER, select service provider after coordination from referral officer with nearest MoH hospital then if needed coordinate with nearest private hospitals.
  • Follow up the referred case from camp to selected hospital (according to referral SoP), manage hospital requests and approvals for referred cases on his shift and for all already admitted patient cases from the camp.
  • Maintain proper communication with the affiliated hospital to respond for any inquiries or request regarding the referred camp patient.
  •  Coordinate with camp referral officer for referral tickets on CCR, evacuation needs to/from referral hospital, validate discharge medication prescription during his/her shift.
  • Proper handover notes to the central hub team on the next morning for referred cases, approval done, hospital pending requests, and any complications raised during duty.
  • Promit responses to Central Senior referral doctor validation of the referrals that took place during the ER doctor's duties, including explanation requested, justification, or any related issue in order to ensure proper implementation of referral pathway matrix

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Provision of PHC services:

  • Preventive
  • Medical checkup
  • Family Planning Counseling
  • Child growth monitoring and immunization status
  • Health education provision and increase people awareness about their current health conditions and health promotion in general
  • Curative
  • Medical consultation including family, medical history and full physical examination
  • Management of acute and chronic conditions
  • Prescription of drugs according to national/international standard treatment protocol
  • Referral
  • Referral to secondary and tertiary care as needed
  • Referral to Basic Rapid Diagnostic test (clinic nurse)
  • Referral to clinic obstetrician-gynecologist
  • Referral to clinic health educator
  • Administrative:
  • Fill patient clinical record file for each patient visit
  • Prescribe drug on clinic prescription form
  • Fill referral form for any referral case outside of clinic.
  • Technical Assistance (TA):
  • Provide TA in development of health education material and health promotion campaign as necessary
  • Assist in development of Health Education Plan as necessary
  • Provide advice on drug and medical supply order in coordination with clinic pharmacist.
  • Training:
  • Participate in medical and management trainings as determine by IMC senior management 
  • Continue self-education to adhere with national/international standards and new advancements in the field of general practice and other relevant medical areas
  • Others:
  • Ensure integration of clinic services and promote best quality standards for clients
  • Support provision of training and supervision of nurses/midwives and health educators.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum bachelor’s degree of medicine 
  • Minimum Experience is one year is a must   in Reputable Hospital -Emergency department (a Must).
