Since 2007, IRC has worked with refugees and other vulnerable populations in Jordan. Working in coordination with the humanitarian community and the Government of Jordan, the IRC's assistance programs for children in Jordan include Zaatari Camp and urban-based refugee assistance (Mafraq, Ramtha, Irbid).


The Position

The Health Program Support position will work jointly with the rest of the health team and other departments and will be mainly responsible for following up with the patients on the medical services that IRC are providing to the patients either through the private sector or through the public sector to make sure providing the needed services to the patients according to the international guidelines and protocols, receiving service registration requests and adding these requests on the HIS, verifying the Hardcopy and soft copies of documents related to the services, and will be responsible for updating and reflecting different medical and non-medical information for the patients on the Health Information System (HIS).

Key Responsibilities

Referral supervision

  • Working closely with the focal points of the private and public sectors to insure providing the needed services to the patients regularly
  • Verifying the patients reports and lab results to Ensure that the health services provided are according to standard protocols and guidelines.
  • Contacting IRC patients and collecting feedback about the services they are receiving from both sectors, and advancing the challenges to the focal point according to the SOPs
  • participating and representing the health team in the distribution process, focus groups discussions and meetings with patients and providing the needed support for each activity upon need.
  • contacting the patients who are facing challenges though their journey to get the services from both sectors and providing the needed guidance according to the IRC feedback protocols and responsibilities.
  • Receiving requests to register for the IRC services from patients, verifying the required documents and medical reports, and reflecting the eligible patients to the waiting list on the HIS.
  • Giving orientations to the patients on available services, referral pathways, patient rights and responsibilities.
  • supporting the rest of the health team to make sure that all IRC patients signed and oriented about the required documents, including the code of conduct, treatment plans, and other forms.
  • Ensure proper registration and integration with referral systems and set up a referral feedback system for the referred patients so that the outcome of the referrals is known, and follow-up actions are taken if required.
  • Other duties as assigned by the line manager.

Representation and Coordination

  • Participating in PuHFs visits and different meetings with patients inside and outside PuHFs.

Reporting & Monitoring:

  • In collaboration with the Health Officer, Conducting field monitoring visits to the MOH clinics on regular bases.
  • Keep records of all the patients on the Health Information System (HIS) and update their information regularly and based on the SOPs.
  • Working with the Health officer to respond to the Post Distribution Monitoring (PDM) survey and working closely with the patients and the relevant internal and external parties to resolve any existing issues or challenges.
  • Prepare weekly activity progress reports highlighting challenges, successes, and lessons learned and share with the line manager.
  • Report immediately to the Health Manager for any problem arising in the project, especially fraud/discrepancies, improper medical care given to any patient, or unexpected complication.

Skills

Qualifications


Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a medical-related field (e.g., Medicine, Pharmacology, Medical Analysis, Nursing, etc.).
  • 1-2 years of experience working with non-governmental organizations (NGOs).
  • Demonstrated experience in cash-for-health projects.
  • Proven background in managing non-communicable diseases (NCDs).
  • Familiarity with Health System Strengthening (HSS) projects is highly preferred.
  • Ability to write detailed and comprehensive progress reports.
  • Adaptable and professional, with a proven ability to thrive in challenging environments.
  • Good in both English and Arabic.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and internet applications.
  • Excellent stress management, patience, and active listening skills.
  • Methodical and highly organized in work approach.
