Job Description

We are seeking a highly experienced Principal Structural Engineer to join our team in Amman, Jordan. This senior-level position will play a crucial role in leading and managing building projects for the Defense Materiel Organization (DMO). The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing structural design, analysis, and project execution for critical defense infrastructure and facilities.

  • Lead and manage a team of structural engineers, ensuring high-quality deliverables and adherence to project timelines and budgets
  • Develop and review complex structural designs for defense-related building projects, including blast-resistant and seismic-resistant structures
  • Conduct advanced structural analysis using state-of-the-art engineering software and techniques
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including architects, MEP engineers, and construction professionals
  • Ensure compliance with international and local building codes, standards, and regulations
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers
  • Interact with clients, stakeholders, and government officials to present design concepts and address technical inquiries
  • Implement and maintain quality control processes for structural engineering deliverables
  • Stay updated on the latest advancements in structural engineering, particularly in defense-related applications
  • Contribute to business development efforts and proposal preparation for new projects


Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Structural Engineering or a closely related field
  • Professional Engineering (PE) license or equivalent certification
  • Minimum of 12 years of experience in structural engineering, with a focus on building projects
  • Proven experience in defense-related infrastructure and facilities design
  • Advanced proficiency in structural engineering software such as SAP2000, ETABS, and STAAD.Pro
  • Expertise in AutoCAD and Building Information Modeling (BIM)
  • Strong knowledge of international and local building codes and standards
  • Demonstrated experience in seismic design and analysis
  • Expertise in blast-resistant design for defense structures
  • Excellent project management skills and experience with relevant tools
  • Strong leadership abilities with a track record of successfully managing engineering teams
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to obtain necessary security clearances for defense-related projects
  • Willingness to travel occasionally for project site visits and client meetings
