We are currently seeking a skilled Administrative Assistant with a background in hotels and retreats to join our team.

 

Position: Accountant


Job Summary:

The Accountant is responsible for overseeing the company’s financial activities, ensuring accurate and timely reporting, maintaining financial records, and preparing comprehensive reports in compliance with regulatory standards. This role involves managing the accounting team, preparing financial statements, conducting audits, and improving financial processes.


Key Responsibilities:


General Accounting & Financial Reporting:

  • Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Ensure all accounting transactions comply with legal and company guidelines.
  • Reconcile accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely payments and accurate billing.
  • Manage the company’s general ledger and ensure the accuracy of journal entries.
  • Coordinate month-end and year-end closing processes.


Budgeting & Forecasting:

  • Assist in the preparation of the annual budget and financial forecasts.
  • Analyze financial data to provide insights and recommendations for business growth and cost-saving measures.
  • Monitor budget vs. actual performance and report any discrepancies.


Cash Flow & Asset Management:

  • Oversee the company’s cash flow to ensure liquidity and proper allocation of funds.
  • Manage fixed assets, ensuring proper accounting and depreciation.
  • Review and maintain accurate records for investments, loans, and other financial assets.


Financial Analysis:

  • Provide financial analysis and reports to support decision-making.
  • Conduct variance analysis, identifying key trends and providing recommendations for improvement.
  • Support management with strategic planning by delivering detailed financial insights.


Systems & Process Improvement:

  • Develop and implement efficient accounting procedures and internal controls to safeguard assets.
  • Use accounting software ( preferably Odoo) to ensure accurate and organized financial records.
  • Stay updated on accounting standards and regulations, ensuring the company’s practices are compliant.



Skills

  • Bachelor's degree holder with a proven track record of academic or work experience in the Finance sector.
  • Apt in handling financial tasks like budgeting, planning, and calculating variance which reduces business expenses.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills in partnership management and inter-department coordination.
  • Strong attention to detail and good analytical skills.
  • Ability to prepare detailed and accurate reports within the given timeframe as per requirements.
  • Ability to handle relevant software like Microsoft Suite for efficient preparation of reports and statements.
  •  5+ years of progressive experience in accounting
