BACKGROUND
In the framework of the project “Grow Economy: Promote Sustainable, inclusive and Decent Economic Opportunities for Syrian Refugees and Vulnerable Jordanians in the Agriculture Sector”, ACTED aims to build upon the economic empowerment of Syrian refugees and vulnerable Jordanians in the agricultural sector by supporting climate-adaptive approaches, diversifying income generation, and improving the productivity of agricultural laborers and small farmers. To strengthen local capacities further, ACTED aims to improve employability through tailored training sessions and referral mechanisms. By doing so, ACTED hopes to create improved working conditions and labor rights through advocacy and technical support.
The “Grow Economy: Promote sustainable, inclusive and decent economic opportunities for Syrian refugees and vulnerable Jordanians in the agriculture sector” project brings together a consortium composed of ACTED and other active NGOs, the private sector, and local authorities, the consortium is led by ACTED.
Under the supervision of the Project Officer, the Project Voulnteer will contribute to collecting the required data through door-to-door outreach and phone calls as well as raising awareness of the importance of agriculture, entrepreneurship, and microbusiness to ensure food security at the individual and community levels.
LOCATION:Jordan, with travel to Ajloun, Madaba, and Balqa Governorates.

The Project Volunteer has the responsibility to adhere to the PSEAH Policy (Protection against Sexual Exploitation, Abuse, and Harassment). Project Volunteer should complete all mandatory training related to the Code of Conduct and the PSEA policy and report any safeguarding concerns, such as breaches of organizational policies or codes of conduct, according to ACTED’s procedures. The (Enumerators) carry out work duties in a way that does not harm children, vulnerable adults, or other staff or volunteers.
JOB PURPOSE;
The Project Volunteer is responsible for collecting data on potential individuals' knowledge and skills as well as for raising awareness on the importance of agriculture, entrepreneurship, marketing, and microbusiness to ensure food security at the individual and community levels.
OBJECTIVES:
· Support the project officer in orienting them on the importance of agriculture, entrepreneurship, and micro businesses to ensure food security at the individual and community levels.
· Support the project’s officer on business management capacity building training of the CBOs/ farms.
· Contribute to micro business capacity building training of the individual beneficiaries.
· Oversee business ideas' generation and business plan development for each farm, in coordination with the cooperative capacity-building specialist.
· Follow up and report on the implementation of the farmers/landless laboeres business plans.
· Provide necessary coaching during the business plan implementation.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Collecting data on potential individuals' knowledge and skills
- Supporting the Project officer in orientation on the importance of agribusiness, entrepreneurship, and micro business to ensure food security at the individual and community levels
- supporting the Project officer in linking the individual beneficiaries to suitable markets, and improving beneficiaries' marketing skills.
- Explaining the selection criteria to the beneficiaries, facilitating community participation in the targeting process, and sharing feedback with the project team.
- Together with the business development team, supporting the beneficiaries in identifying a feasible business idea in the agricultural sector.
- Ensure that the Project’s communications materials (e.g. banners) are visible and present in all events, training, ceremonies, etc.
- Keep an up-to-date record of major events in the governorate and report on them when necessary
- Support office maintenance and logistics when necessary.
- Participate and engage in any project’s training and meetings as requested by the supervisor.
- Ensure cross-program integration, learning, sharing, and adoption of best practices from other ACTED activities and teams.
- Ensure effective integration and mainstreaming of gender into all programs.

Skills
QUALIFICATIONS
- High School or bachelor’s degree in social sciences, economics/business, finance, international development, or any related field, with significant course components in either community development, social work, women empowerment, and/or communications
- 1-2 years experience in mobilization and outreach activities, preferably with an international organization and in agribusiness.
- Experience in dealing with agricultural Beneficiaries and CSOs.
- Basic knowledge of the agriculture sector.
- Desirable experience in working in host community settings, cooperatives, Community Based Organization (CBO) engagement, outreach, and capacity building.
- Proven capacity in using MS Excel, MS Word, and MS Outlook
- Fluent Arabic (compulsory) and English language (desirable)
- Knowledge and experience of Jordanian civil society at large, specifically in the northern and center governorates of Irbid, Ajloun, Madaba, and Balqa.
- Familiarity with the culture of the affected population; understanding of how to gain respect from a wide range of people; strong ability to communicate effectively.
- Positive attitude toward Syrian refugees.
- Gender sensitivity.
- Strong organizational skills, including assessing priorities, strategic planning, meeting deadlines and attention to detail and quality.
- Ability to work flexibly and on tight deadlines, handle multitasking and prioritize more important tasks.
Good leadership, negotiating and communication skills in a fast pace, multicultural and challenging environment.
