LWF Jordan is one of the 25 country programs managed by LWF World Service and has been operational since 2013. For over a decade, LWF Jordan has supported marginalized communities by strengthening resilience, social cohesion, and sustainable livelihood opportunities. LWF Jordan delivers protection and humanitarian services across multiple sectors, including individual and group counseling, community-based activities, awareness raising, child and youth programming, and capacity building. Services are provided to all individuals without discrimination based on ethnicity, gender, religion, race, or political affiliation.
Scope of Work:
The Livelihood Assistant provides technical, administrative, and field-level support to the implementation of livelihood and economic development activities, with a particular focus on mushroom production and home-based income-generating initiatives. The position supports training delivery, beneficiary follow-up, monitoring and data collection, coordination, and logistical arrangements to ensure timely, effective, and quality implementation of livelihood interventions in line with project objectives and donor requirements.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Livelihoods Implementation and Beneficiary Support
- Support the implementation of livelihood activities with a specific focus on mushroom production projects, including production processes, harvesting, packaging, storage, and basic quality control.
- Assist in establishing and supporting beneficiaries engaged in home-based production activities, particularly mushroom cultivation and related value-chain activities.
- Provide day-to-day follow-up and technical support to beneficiaries during production cycles, under the supervision of the Livelihood Officer.
- Monitor beneficiaries enrolled in livelihood activities, including production, processing, and sales activities.
- Conduct regular field visits to follow up on production progress, adherence to technical guidelines, and appropriate use of project-provided inputs.
- Document beneficiaries’ feedback, challenges, lessons learned, and progress throughout the project lifecycle.
2. Market Linkages and Basic Business Support
- Support beneficiaries in basic marketing, pricing, packaging, and selling of mushroom products in local markets.
- Assist in linking beneficiaries with local buyers, cooperatives, markets, and sales points, as required.
- Support data collection related to production volumes, sales quantities, income generated, and contribution to project indicators.
3. Training and Capacity Building Support
- Assist in organizing and facilitating training sessions and workshops related to mushroom production, post-harvest handling, food safety, and basic business and entrepreneurship skills.
- Support consultants and trainers during practical and theoretical training sessions.
- Ensure proper attendance tracking, distribution of materials, and documentation of training activities.
4. Monitoring, Documentation, and Reporting
- Support routine monitoring and data collection activities, including attendance sheets, monitoring tools, production logs, and sales tracking forms.
- Assist in baseline, follow-up, and post-training data collection exercises, as required.
- Support the preparation of field visit reports, training reports, and monitoring documentation in a timely manner.
- Organize and maintain beneficiary files, photos, and activity records for reporting, audits, and donor compliance purposes.
5. Coordination and Logistics
- Support logistical arrangements for livelihood activities, including preparation and distribution of materials, tools, inputs, and refreshments.
- Assist in preparing and following up on purchase requests (PRs) related to livelihood activities, including tools, equipment, and consumables.
- Coordinate with volunteers, consultants, service providers, CBOs, cooperatives, and local partners during field implementation.
- Work closely with the Livelihood Officer, Area Manager, and project team to ensure smooth and timely implementation of project activities.
- Coordinate with other departments (e.g., Protection, Education, Advocacy) to ensure integrated and holistic support to beneficiaries, when needed.
6. Risk Management and Safeguarding
- Report any field-level challenges, risks, delays, or operational issues to the Livelihood Officer in a timely manner.
- Ensure that livelihood activities are implemented in compliance with LWF policies, including Protection from Sexual Exploitation, Abuse, and Harassment (PSEAH), Child Protection, and Gender Justice policies.
- Report any safeguarding concerns observed during field activities through established LWF reporting mechanisms.
7. Other Duties
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned by the supervisor, in line with organizational needs.

Qualification & Education:
- Diploma or bachelor’s degree in economics, business administration, international development, agriculture, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in fieldwork, community development, livelihoods, or income-generating projects (preferred).
- Basic knowledge or prior exposure to agriculture, food production, or home-based businesses is an asset.
- Experience working with vulnerable or marginalized communities is preferred.
