Org. Setting and Reporting UNRWA, the largest United Nations operation in the Middle East with over 25,000 staff and complementary personnel working across five areas of operation, is looking for highly committed personnel wishing to make a change. The incumbent contributes to development and implementation of engagement strategy for digital fundraising at global level, to support the growth of individual giving and to secure stable income and further expansion of individual donor base for UNRWA. Responsibilities

  • Contributes to the development and implementation of Individual Giving content strategy through compelling storytelling, fundraising campaigns, emergency appeals, and other donor-facing products.
  • Supports the planning and coordination of fundraising content across digital channels, including email marketing, paid media, social media, video and website content, ensuring content is informed by performance data and audience insights.
  • Provides substantive input to the development and implementations of fundraising campaigns for new donor acquisition, retention and reactivation, tailoring content to different audiences and stages of the donor journey.
  • Creates high-quality, audience-centric fundraising content, including writing and editing donor appeals, stories and campaign copy, and creating visual communications such as digital advertisements, social media content, banners and other campaign assets.
  • Collaborates with the Digital Analyst to translate campaign performance and audience insights into content improvements.
  • Provides substantive input and support to the timely and accurate reporting on digital fundraising-related activities; prepares talking points and presentations for the Division related to digital and individual giving engagement.
  • Supervises and coordinates the work of the Content team, provides day-to-day guidance, quality assurance and performance feedback to ensure the delivery of high-quality fundraising communications.
  • Coordinates with the creative agency, internal content teams, and field staff in the development and delivery of fundraising content; prepares creative briefs, provides content-related guidance and reviews deliverables, and maintains effective working relationships with relevant stakeholders.
  • Monitors emerging fundraising, digital marketing and content trends and recommends innovative approaches to improve performance.

Education

Advanced university degree (Master or equivalent) from an accredited educational institution in communication, marketing, business administration, social sciences, or a related discipline. A first-level university degree in the specified fields of study, in combination with two additional years of relevant work experience, may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.

Work Experience

A first-level university degree in the specified fields of study, in combination with two additional years of relevant work experience, may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.

At least two years of relevant work experience in digital fundraising or content creation, with a specific focus on digital acquisition campaigns is required. Unless already serving as an international staff member in the UN Common System, at least two continuous years of relevant international experience should be outside UNRWA, and outside the country(s) of citizenship is required. Good working knowledge of Arabic is desirable. Knowledge of the UN system is desirable. Knowledge of Islamic Giving is desirable
