MEAL Coordinator

Background:

Save the Children Jordan (SCJ) seeks MEAL coordinator consulting services from a qualified individual consultant to provide MEAL support for the MEAL department. The consultancy involves engagement in a wide range of MEAL activities as specified in the tasks below. The consultant will work from SC Jordan office and as per SC Jordan’s office hours.

Objectives of reviews:

The consultant will be assigned MEAL tasks as per the department needs and will report directly to the MEAL manager. The MEAL manager will identify specific projects to focus on during this consultancy period.

MEAL coordinator consultant mission tasks:

Support the delivery of effective Program, in both development and humanitarian contexts, by fulfilling the following responsibilities and others as they may arise:

• Work with program teams to implement the M&E activities and required tools.
• Support in conducting the end-line, focus groups, outcome harvesting, final evaluation, training data collection teams, coordinating data entry and analysis, and writing reports.
• Work closely with MEAL Manager to ensure that up-to-date data is being collected for the project, in line with the project targets in a timely manner, through providing proper MEAL plan and follow up on it.
• Conduct MEAL induction to project staff and volunteers when needed.
• Conduct field visits to assist with data collection, verify proper use of monitoring tools, and facilitate more in-depth learning exercises with the beneficiary communities.
• Oversee the data entry and analysis of data, and ensure that data is verified for accuracy and Inconsistencies are addressed.  
• Contribute to project reporting by consolidating data regarding progress toward project indicators.
• Facilitate, as necessary, lessons learned activities and learning events.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

Essential

• At least 1 year of experience in MEAL or reasearch related roles in an INGO environment

• Excellent understanding of different components of MEAL and skills in leading MEAL systems 

• Very good communication skills in written and spoken English

Demonstrated skills in oversight of research, assessment, and evaluations

Desirable

• Prior experience with Save the Children
