The Security Advisor will support the Operations Lead to manage and update Health, Safety, and Security provisions for the project, carry out risk assessments, and ensure mitigation measures are in place and complied with.

Responsibilities will include the following:

• Review daily and weekly news and information reports to inform evaluations of levels of threat to the Team Leader and Operations Lead.
• Maintain information exchange networks with organizations working in the same region (including with the British Embassy and Home Office) to inform the evaluation of threat levels.
• Hold responsibility for providing contextual and security updates as required by the British Embassy.
• Develop and maintain relationships with other security partners and sources in Jordan that expand contextual understanding.
• Implement and manage any changes of security profile based on the latest intelligence.
• Create and update periodically a project Health, Safety, and Security policy and relevant annexes.
• Develop, implement, and update periodically incident response and management procedures.
• Respond appropriately to any HSS incidents.
• Maintain a log of HSS incidents, including regional incidents relevant to the project.
• Be involved in wider engagement alongside the Team Leader with the British Embassy Amman, including CTPLO, Defence Attache, CT team, and regional contacts regarding security and contextual matters.
• Develop Site-Specific Risk Assessments for project locations within Jordan.
• Deliver a weekly brief to the team, updating on HSS incidents and responses.
• Maintain a location tracking system for all international staff and consultants within Jordan.
• Identify and evaluate external trainings (HEAT, specialized trainings), assist teams in booking trainings, and maintain high standards of staff awareness as required on key vulnerabilities.
• Maintain a log of all HEAT/First aid trained staff.
• Develop HSS inductions for project personnel that can be delivered by the Operations team.
• Develop policies for providing psychosocial support, gender-sensitive security advice, and response to sensitive or personal issues.
• Build and sustain an effective working relationship with TAG HQ (including the Operations Team) to ensure that corporate Duty of Care requirements are met and relevant information supplied in a timely manner.
• Provide advisory support to TAG projects on the Jordan platform as required by HQ.

Support the Operations Lead in overall risk management by:

• Monitoring risk developments and engaging appropriate stakeholders (including TAG HQ Operations) to ensure project SOPs remain appropriate to the risk environment.
• Identifying and implementing appropriate mitigation of security and operational risks, and responding to issues.
• Supporting and advising the Team Leader, Technical Lead, and Operations Lead on how to assess and determine appropriate mitigation measures for security risks in relation to their work and teams.
• Planning and implementing Health, Safety, and Security provisions with agreement from the Operations Lead, liaising with HQ as required, and forming part of the Incident Management Team.
• Being a primary point of escalation alongside the Operations Lead for all security risks and issues relating to team adherence to all Health, Safety, and Security. Severe issues will be dealt with in coordination with the Senior Management Team.

The Security Advisor will advise and support the Senior Management Team to:

• Develop and implement a company (TAG Jordan) wide security plan that assesses current threats and vulnerabilities, identifies protection goals, objectives, and metrics.
• Establish security-related quality control points, ensuring uniformity, effectiveness, and that appropriate mitigations are applied.
• Facilitate the development and implementation of training sessions to ensure company (TAG Jordan) preparedness for a security-related incident and promote employee awareness and engagement.

Cybersecurity

• Work with HR to promote a culture of cybersecurity risk awareness across TAG Jordan and assess if further strategies need to be put in place.

Reporting Lines: The Security Advisor reports to the Operations Lead.

Deliverables:

• Develop and update Health, Safety, and Security documents as required.
• Developed site-specific risk assessments and TAG Jordan security plan.

Acceptance Criteria:
Fulfillment of all responsibilities and completion of all deliverables as assessed by the Operations Lead and Team Leader.
