SME, Sub-system & Equipment Manager Position Overview We are seeking a hands-on technical authority to provide expert guidance on the selection, integration, and compliance of complex defense systems and equipment. You will lead technical roadmaps, ensure regulatory compliance, and manage the integration of advanced systems including weapons, radar, EO/IR, communications, and control systems.
Core Responsibilities Provide expert technical guidance to supply chain and program teams on equipment selection, integration, and industrialization Lead development of technical roadmaps and strategic feasibility assessments Ensure organizational compliance with export control regulations (ITAR/EAR, UAE, Europe, UK) and validate supplier contracts Manage integration of advanced systems: weapons, missiles, radar, EO/IR, communications, space, and control systems Support cross-functional engineering initiatives including system architecture analysis and survivability solutions Develop technology/market forecasts and sourcing analyses to support strategic supply chain decisions
Required Qualifications Experience: Minimum 15 years in engineering, technical functions, or project management in defense/aerospace Education: Master's in Computer Science, Engineering degree, or proven equivalent Technical Skills:Systems engineering lifecycle and requirements management Defense electronics (radar, EW, communications, weapons, EO/IR, avionics) Export control compliance (ITAR/EAR) Supply chain technical advisory and supplier management Industry Background: Defense
Preferred Qualifications Experience with MIL-STD, NATO AQAP, DO certifications Knowledge of semiconductor or industrial subsystems Proficiency with engineering tools (MATLAB/Simulink, DOORS, Ansys) Experience mentoring engineering teams and presenting to executive leadership
