Nanny (recruitment for a pool)

Recruitment for Pool:

We are initiating recruitment for a pool of candidates to fill upcoming Nanny positions in our organization. This pool will serve as a resource for filling the position that is expected to arise over the near future.  Candidates will be evaluated based on their qualifications, experience, and suitability for  this specific role; where the selection process will include interviews and assessments to ensure that the most qualified individuals are chosen to join our team.

Note: It is important to note that inclusion in the pool does not guarantee immediate employment. Placement into specific position will depend on the availability of space and the suitability of candidates at the time of selection.

Main Purpose

Being responsible for  looking after the welfare of the infant/child, according to MSF hygiene standards and security rules, strictly observing the daily regimen specified by parents in written or oral instructions

Accountabilities

• Taking care of the infant/child during the day and carrying out tasks specified by the parents, following at all times all hygiene standards and security rules. When requested, preparing food and planning their daily activities

• Taking all possible measures to prevent accidents in home/external activity locations. Immediately informing the parents in case of accidents (injuries, falling, intoxication, etc.) and immediately providing the first aid and calling the medical doctor if required. Checking the health of the child (fever, insect bites, injuries, etc.) when called for

• Practicing self-education, learning child development methods and practicing developing games with in-fants/children based on their age.

• Looking after the cleanliness of the infant/child, including clothes and shoes as well the cleanliness of the room, do-mestic appliances, toys and other items surrounding the infant/child. When required, ironing child/children’s clothes

• Dressing the infant/child appropriately and taking care of the toilet needs of the child. When applicable, changing diapers regularly and giving a bath during the day and when requested, during the evening 

• Using the home and kitchen appliances accurately and carefully to prepare proper meals for the infant/child

• Note: The infant/child should never be left alone including while in the bath. When staying at home while parents are out, child minder should not open the door to unauthorized people

MSF Section/Context Specific Accountabilities

• Taking care of the infant/child during the day and carrying out tasks specified by the parents, always following all hygiene standards and security rules.

• Plan daily activities for children, considering the children’s individual routines (sleeping, meals etc).

• Taking all possible measures to prevent accidents in home/external activity locations. Immediately informing the parents in case of accidents (injuries, falling, intoxication, etc.) and immediately provid-ing the first aid and calling the medical doctor if required. Checking the health of the child (fever, in-sect bites, injuries, etc.).

• Practicing self-education and to learn the child development methods and be informed with the new toys for children, and practice developing games with children based on their age.

• Looking after the cleanness of the child/children, including clothes, shoes, as well the cleanliness of the room, domestic appliances, toys and other items surrounding the infant/child.

• Dressing the infant/child appropriately and taking care of the toilet needs of the child. When applicable, changing diapers regularly and giving a bath during the day and when requested, during the evening.

• Using the home and kitchen appliances accurately and carefully to prepare proper meals for the in-fant/child.

• Note: The infant/child should never be left alone including while in the bath. When staying at home while parents are out, childminder should not open the door to unauthorized people.

• Cook meals for children (respecting their diet if specific requirements or need), respecting healthy nu-trition principles.

• Clean Daily the house, in particular:

        o     Ventilate all rooms;

       o      Sweep and mop the floors;

       o      Clean the toilets (detergent)

       o      Dust furniture;

      o       Remove dishes and cutlery from rooms / offices and clean them.

      o       Clean the water filters every week and change the filter at least once every 6 months

      o       Empty the waste bins.

      o       Kitchen management: Wash dishes and cups and keep the kitchen appliances always clean.

      o       Consumable management: Request on time all supplies for house / office from logistic team such as: gas, toilet paper, soap, cleaning material.

• Security: Ensure that the premises are properly locked (doors, windows).

•  Prevent entry of anyone in the house unless prior authorization from the manager or technical refer-ent.

•  Inform the line manager, on a weekly basis, of any installation or equipment maintenance/repair needs within the assigned premises.

• Immediately inform the line manager and/or technical adviser when urgent repairs are required or ur-gent measures must be taken to safeguard the premises (in the event of infestation by insects, rats, etc.)

 

Work Location: Amman – Jordan

Language: English language is essential.

Contract: Initial fixed term contract – Full Time – 6 months depending on the availability of the position.

Eligibility: Eligible to work in the Jordan and if will ever need sponsorship to work in Jordan, she should be sponsored by organization or company.

This opportunity is open to cleaning staff who have no experience in nanny position but are willing to learn and gain the required experience, as MSF will provide them with training opportunities on the condition that their English language skills are good.
