Job Title: Pharmacy Assistant FSR # 634
Location: Amman
Job Summary:
The Pharmacy Assistant will primarily support the psychotropic medications under MHPSS component. The pharmacy assistant will have an overview of the stock consumption and stock level and compile the consumption reports of psychotropic medications dispensed at MHPSS clinics at urban MHPSS clinics.
MAIN TASKS AND RESPONSABILITIES
- Prepare the consumption reports of psychotropic medications.
- Perform tracking of the psychotropic distribution at MHPSS urban clinics under the supervision of a Senior Pharmacist.
- Under the supervision of a Senior Pharmacist, keep track of the psychotropic medication stock levels and develop the distribution plan to MHPSS clinics.
- Arrange and manage and supervise MHPSS pharmacies under supervision of a Senior Pharmacist, in accordance with internationally accepted standard practices including tracking expiration dates, First Expire First Out (FEFO) policy, bin cards, stock cards, tracking registers, re-order thresholds, cleanliness, etc.
- Assist the Senior Pharmacist in conducting inventory control of MHPSS pharmacies on a regular basis.
- Supervise daily, weekly and monthly consumption records and share with line Senior Pharmacist accordingly.
- Submit consumption reports regularly as defined by the direct supervisor.
- Generate timely replenishment requests to prevent stock outs.
- Track over-utilized and under-utilized items to adjust requests.
- Reviews and monitors all the goods issue orders (GIO) for clinics that received from the warehouse.
- Inform supervisor of overstock, stock outs, damaged medications and other irregularities on a timely manner.
- Regularly check expiry dates of the psychotropic medications and report short expiry medications to direct supervisor.
- Ensures the dispensing of medications in each clinic is appropriately documented, and medication dispensed is accurately accounted for, in line with compliance standards.
- Distribute medications for patients according to psychiatrist prescriptions and follows up to record the consumptions for each clinic
- Follow up and do biopsychosocial care plan with focus on any immediate safety concerns.
- Provide psychoeducation to cases as needed regarding psychotropic usage.
- Coordinate with the pharmacists at MHPSS clinics on stock levels, needs and stock order.
- Report any anomaly or stock discrepancy to direct supervisor immediately.
- Perform any other task(s) assigned by direct supervisor.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's degree in pharmacy.
- License to practice issued by Ministry of Health and membership from Jordan Pharmacy Association.
- Experience with INGO is preferable.
- Good knowledge, understanding and work experience in Pharmaceutical Information Management System, data flows, information analysis and reporting is essential.
- The ability to work under pressure.
