Job Purpose for Exhibits Designer
The Exhibits Designer is responsible for developing innovative concepts, implementing design strategies, and producing engaging 2D and 3D designs for interactive and hands-on exhibits within the Museum's scope. This role also involves coordinating with the facilities team to ensure the successful development and maintenance of exhibits.
Duties and Responsibilities
Operational Role:
- Collaborate with relevant Museum departments to develop exhibit designs, budgets, and goals.
- Present ideas and concepts through sketches, plans, or models using computer software or manual techniques.
- Revise designs based on feedback from department management.
- Prepare layout and construction plans for proposed exhibit projects.
- Assist in sourcing required elements/components for exhibits from local and international sources.
- Aid in selecting external contractors for complex exhibit structures.
- Oversee and actively participate in the construction and design of exhibits.
- Create graphics, posters, murals, or multimedia presentations relevant to each exhibit project.
- Gather essential information such as budgets and timelines to inform design work.
- Supervise external contractors and workers on-site during project execution.
- Assist in designing installation concepts for major Museum events and celebrations.
- Adhere to policies and procedures within the department and the Museum.
- Perform any other job-related tasks assigned by the direct manager.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, industrial design, architecture, or relevant work experience in a related design discipline.
- A strong 3D and 2D portfolio demonstrating diversity and creativity is essential.
- Excellent command of English, both spoken and written.
- Native Arabic speaker with proficient writing and reporting skills.

Additional Information
This position is a limited contract for one year, with the possibility of extension based on project continuation.
