Position: Media Specialist

Family Health International (FHI 360) is currently recruiting for the position of Media Specialist for the USAID Jordan Community Health and Nutrition Project. The purpose of the Community Health and Nutrition (CHN) Project is to improve the nutritional status of children under five and pregnant and lactating women in target areas. The activity seeks to support child and maternal health and nutrition status by improving breastfeeding practices, introducing appropriate complementary foods at the right time, and ensuring appropriate child spacing through postpartum family planning and continuation of modern forms of contraception. This position is temporary currently slated for six-month and is based in Amman, Jordan.

Job Summary:

The employee filling this position will play a key role in supporting the program’s Social and Behavior Change (SBC) activities by providing direct support to the SBCC Director and SBC team to design and implement media activities to promote Maternal, Infant, and Young Child Nutrition and Post-Partum Family Planning (MIYCN-PPFP) including but not limited to mass media campaigns, media events and others.

Areas of Responsibility:

The main responsibilities of the Media Specialist include the following:

  • Work closely with the SBCC Director to design, plan, execute, and monitor mass media and social media campaigns to raise awareness on MIYCN-PPFP.
  • Work closely with the media production agency to ensure campaign deliverables are produced in high quality that meet the specifications and branding guidelines. This includes the technical supervision of script writing, storyboard, casting, video shooting, voice over, scouting, photography, and the production of TVC and radio spots in format suitable for the different TV and radio stations.
  • Prepare engaging social media content and messages suitable for the different social media platforms, including text, photos, and videos.  
  • Lead the designer to ensure all designs meet the required specifications and branding guidelines.
  • Write the campaign related content including creative concept, messages, social media content, press releases, etc.
  • Work closely with the media agency to plan for the campaign and ensure the best utilization of the different online and offline channels and monitor the campaign media placement during execution.  
  • Work closely with the event management agency to provide ideas, plan and execute the campaign launch event. This includes venue, set-ups, invitations, backdrop, rollups, technical preparations (e.g., audiovisual), logistics, press, suppliers, speakers, catering… etc. 
  • Provide full detailed reports on the campaign and the campaign launch event.
  • Any other related duties assigned by the supervisor to ensure the campaign success.

Qualifications:

The successful individual is required to meet the following criteria:

  • University degree or equivalent in Media, Communication, Marketing, Social Marketing, or any relevant academic areas.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in designing, planning, and executing mass media and social media campaigns, with a proven track record of successful outcomes. Experience in health awareness and development fields is a plus.
  • Strong experience working with video production agencies, media buying agencies and event management agencies.
  • Knowledge of videography, photography, graphic designs software is strongly preferred.
  • Strong and updated knowledge of the media scene, insights, and trends in Jordan.
  • Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills in Arabic and English are essential.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills and ability to work effectively with a variety of audiences and organizations.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills in both Arabic and English.
  • Creativity, strong organizational skills, and excellent attention to detail.  
  • Problem solving skills.
  • Experience working on USAID funded projects with an understanding of USAID’s rules and regulations preferred.
  • Must be self-motivated with a positive and professional approach to management.
  • Abilities to multitask and prioritize tasks are highly desired.
  • Must be able to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
